20 Chinese input Components The basic building unit s of Chinese characters are components that are made up of strokes. 26 GPS GPS Your phone is equipped with a G PS receiver that uses satellite signals to calculate your locati on. Using the GPS Make sure you hav e a clear view of th e sky when using features that require the GPS receiver to find your location. If your location is not found afte r a few minutes, move to another location.

29 Calling Networks Your phone sw itches automatical ly between GSM and 3G (UMTS) networks depend ing on availability. Some networ k operators allow you to switch networks manually. 30 Calling Phone contacts Phone contacts can contain names, phone numbers and personal informatio n. They are saved in the phone memor y. To add a p hone contact 1 From standb y select Me nu > Contacts . 2 Scroll to New contact and s elect Add . 3 Enter the name and s elect OK .

36 Calling More tha n one c all You can handle more than one call a t a time. For example, you can put an ongoing call on hold, while you make or answer a second call. You can also switch betw een the two call s. You cannot answer a third call without ending one of the first two calls.
37 Calling To add a new participant 1 During the call, select Optio ns > Hold call . This puts the joined calls on hold. 2 Select Options > Add call . 3 Enter the number to c all and p ress . 4 Select Options > Join calls to add the new participant.
38 Calling Restrict calls options Standard options are: • All out going – all out going calls • Outgoing i ntl – all outgoing international calls • Outgoing intl roa m. – all outgoing international calls except to your home country/region • All incom ing – all incoming calls • Inc.

40 Messaging Text messa ges Text me ssages can co ntain simp le pictures, sound effects , animations, and me lod ies . Before yo u use messag ing You must ha ve a service centre nu mber. The number is supplied by your service provider and is usua lly saved o n the SIM card.
41 Messaging Picture m essage s Picture messages can conta in text, pictures, slides, sound recordings, video clips, signatures and attachmen ts. You can send picture messages to a mobile phone or an email addres s. Before you use picture messaging You must set an MMS profile and the address of your message se rver.
