11 Getting star ted Charging time This repre sents the ti me r equire d to charge fully depl eted N ickel -Metal Hydri de batteries using t he suppli ed battery cha rger in an envi ronme nt where the amb ient temperatu re is 25°C (77°F). • It takes about six hours to completely char ge the batteries.

16 How to use t he buttons To chan ge the curren t settings of the camera , bring up the menu , and use the control but tons to make t he change s. For each item, press MENU to display the menu and pre ss the control butt ons v / V to select the de sired value, then press EXE C to make the set ting.

22 Basic still image shootin g — Using auto adjustment mode , Set the mode switch to , and turn on the pow er. The name of t he folder whe r e the image will be reco rded appe ars on t he LCD screen for approxima tely five sec onds. • [FOCUS] is set to [A UTO] at the factor y .

24 LCD screen display during shooting You can use [DISPLAY ] under [ ] with MENU and the control buttons v / V to t urn the display on and off. This is use ful when recordi ng under co nditions whe re it is diff icult t o check the image on th e LCD screen.
