5 Section 1 – FA MILIA RIZA TION FIGURE 1.1 1. 1 INTRODUCT ION This manual has been prepared for the operator ’s of the SNAPPER OUT FRONT Z-RI DER. Its purpose, aside from rec omm ending standard oper ating procedures and routine s ervice requirem ents, is to prom ote SAFETY through the use of accepted operating practices.
6 MACHINE MOTION CONTROL - Single lever, multi- directiona l & continuously varia ble, controls direction of motion & spee d of motion. Forward displacement of control produces forward motion. Rearward displacemen t of control produces rearward mo tion.

9 Section 2 - OPERA T ING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE- START CHECK L IST Make the f ollowing checks and perform the service requir ed before eac h start-up. 2.1.1. Check tires and add or releas e air as needed to bring press ure in drive tires to: 12 psi (T urf Type Tires ), 5 ps i (All Terr ain Type Tires) and 25 psi in rear cas ter tires.
10 Section 2 - OPERA T ING INSTRUCTIONS IMPORT A NT: T his Out Front Z-Rider is equipped with hydros tatic drive. T he forward and rear w ard movement of the mach ine is controlled b y a joystick lev er. Joys tick operations should be pe rformed only from the operator’s position in t he seat.

IMPO RTANT: (Diesel Eng ine Only) Use the Glow Plug only if engine is cold or outside temper ature is cold. Rotate k ey counter clock wise to the preheat position (G L letter designation on switch) to allow the glow lamp to heat up.
12 Section 2 - OPERA T ING INSTRUCTIONS 2.2.4. PA RKING BRA KE 1. Engage park ing brak e by pulling the park ing brak e lever bac k to the “ ON” position. See Figure 2.8. 2. Release par king brake by moving brak e lever down to the “OFF” pos ition.

14 Section 3 - MA INTENA NCE 3.1 INTRODUCT ION To retain the quality of the SNAPPER Out Fr ont Z-Rider, use genuine SNAPPER replacem ent parts only . Contact a local SNAPPER dealer f or parts and servic e assistance. For the cor rect part or inform ation for a particular SNAPPER Out Front Z- Rider, alway s m ention the model and serial number .
15 Section 3 - MA INTENA NCE 3.2.3. CHECK MOW ER DRIVE BELT 1. Drive Belt Cov er Removal a. Lower deck to lowest s etting. b. Remove knobs that secur e the deck cover. See Figure 3.3. c. Rem ove cover to gain acces s to deck belt. FIGURE 3.3 2. Checking Belt Tension The idler and spring provide pr oper belt tension and require no adj ustm ent.
16 Section 3 - MA INTENA NCE 3.3.3. RIDING MOW ER - LUBRICA TION 1. Front & Rear Wheel Bearings Lubricate with Kendall NLGI No. 2 lithium grease or equivalent, from a grease gun. See F igure 3.5. FIGURE 3.5 2. Transaxle Check the level of f luid in both of the fluid reser voirs.
