5 Section 1 - FA MILIA RIZA TION FIGURE 1.1 1.1 INTRODUCT ION This manual has been prepared f or the operator’s of the SNAPPER Rear Engine Rider. Its pur pose, aside f rom recom m ending standard oper ating procedures and routine servic e requirem ents, is to promote SAFETY through the use of ac cepted operating prac tices.
6 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2.1 PRE-START CHECK LIST Make the f ollowing check s and perf orm the ser vice required bef ore each star t-up. 2.1.1. Check tires and add or release air as needed to bring press ure to 12 psi in f ront and 12 psi in r ear tires.

ENGINE (ELECTRIC START) IMPO RTANT: W hen the ignition k ey is turned to “START ”, the engine will turn over, but will not start unless the Clutc h/Brake pedal is press ed all the w ay down, the Blade Lever is in the “OFF” position (See Figure 2.

9 Section 2 - OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS WA RNING Once blade is dise ngaged, it should come to a complete stop in 3 seconds or less. If the blade continues to rotate afte r 3 seconds, the blade brake must be adjust ed.

Engage park brak e by pushing clutch/brak e pedal “DOW N” and m oving the park brak e latch to the “ENGAGED” position. W hile holding the park brak e latch “ENGAG ED”, release c lutch/brak e pedal to set park brake.

18 Section 3 – MA INTENA NCE 3.7 REMOVING FUEL TANK Before r emoving f uel tank from rear engine rider, mo ve rider outdoors where f um es can be eas ily dissipated. Rem oval of the tank is accom plished from the left side of the mac hine by pulling the tank straight up and away from the f uel tank brac ket.
