1 Intr oduction Avira AntiVir SharePoint protects your Shar ePoint systems against viruses, m alware, adware and spyware, unwanted programs an d other dangers. This manual d eals with viruses and software in brief. Note The program’s full name is Avira AntiVir ShareP oint.

3 Pr oduct inf ormation 3.1 Function overview AntiVir SharePoint is an antivirus solution developed sp ecially for Microsoft SharePoint and supports the followin g SharePoint technology: – Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 – Microsoft Windows SharePoint Se rvices 3.
AntiVir SharePoint The use of external antivirus programs is controlled by means of the Antivirus Manager (AVM) in SharePoint technology. Antivirus fu nctions can be enabled in the Shar ePoint Antivirus settings.
Product information 3.2 Delivery scope AntiVir SharePoint offers extensive antivirus protection f or corporate data that you manage and provide using ShareP oint technol ogy.
AntiVir SharePoint 6 3.4 Licensing You require a license to use Avira AntiV ir ShareP oint. The licens e is issued in the f orm of a digital license key in the file hbedv.key. Yo u can obtain the license file by email from Avira GmbH. The license file contains the lice nse for all products that you have ordered in one order process.
4 Inst allation and unins tallation 4.1 Installation Before installing Anti Vir SharePoint, check the following requirements: Ensure that the syst em requirements are met ( see System requirements). Ensure that you are logged in to the co mputer as an administrator or as a user with administrator rights.

AntiVir SharePoint 10 – Commands and actions are available in t he details window via links. – When configuring AntiVir SharePoint , you must confirm information in the Configure AntiVir window with the button OK in order to apply the new settings.
6 Virus detection When documents are uploaded t o or downlo aded from SharePoint Team pa ges, Avira AntiVir SharePoint scans these documents fo r viruses and malware. If AntiVir finds viruses or malware in a d ocument, this is re ported to ShareP oint.
7 Updates The effectiveness of antivirus software depends entirely on th e scanning engin e and the virus definitions being up to date. For th is reason, you should regularly download updates for Avira SharePoint from our download servers.
8 Viruses and mor e 8.1 Extended threat categories Dialers (DIALERS) Certain services available in the Internet ha ve to be paid for. They are invoiced in Germany via dialers with 0190/0900 number s (or via 09x0 numbers in Austria and Switzerland; in Germany, the number is se t to change to 09x0 in the medium term).

10 Configur ation options 10.1 Configuration options Avira AntiVir Sharepoint is configure d in AntiVir Administration under Settings . The following configuration options ar e available: – Configur.
Configuration options Advanced Heuristic Analysis and Dete ction (AHeAD) If this option is enabled, the heuristic sc an for viruses using AntiVir AHeAD technology is enabled. For heuristic hits, the affected data is treated as viruses. You can define how 'sharp’ you want the heuristics to be.
AntiVir SharePoint When scanning archives, the AntiVir SharePoi nt uses a recursive scan: Archives within archives are unpacked and scanned for viruses and unwante d programs. If this option is enabled, the recursive sca n is restricted to the specified maximum recursion depth value.
Configuration options If this option is enabled, the report file can be limited to a specific size. This option is activated by default with a value of 1024 KB. If the log file exceeds the specified size, the report file entries are backed up in a backup re port file and the rep ort file is reset.
