If the Sensor is enabled, it will detect the edge of t he label and position it automatically . If it is disabled, the positioning must be under software control usin g Line Feed commands.

Since they affect the basic operation of the prin ter , the procedure for entering this mode is designed to pre vent someone from accidently changing the settings.

A Page 3-21 GAP [X.XXV] INPUT [X.XV] GAP - When setting the “gap” thresh old, the voltage shown on the top line of the display must be me asured with nothing but the backing in the sensor and then a gain with a label still attached to the backing.

A SA T O M-84PRO DEF AUL T SETTING MODE Occassionally it is desirable to reset all printer configuration settings to their original default conditions. This allows the operator to start reconfiguration of the printer starting from a know set of conditions.

A SA TO M-84PRO NOTE: The PRINT potentiometer adjustme nt will affect the darkness in all of the command code speed ranges, i.e. if the PRINT potentiometer is ad justed for lighter print, the darkness will be lighter in all sp eed ranges selected by the command code.

A Page 6-7 CABLE REQUIREMENTS READY/BUSY FLOW CONTROL R eady/Busy is the hardware flow control method for th e serial interface on the M-84PRO printers. By raising/lowering the voltage level on Pin 20 of the RS232C port, the printer notifies the host when it is ready to receive data.

A Page 6-9 ENQUIRE/ACK/NAK In the Bi-Com 4 mode, the host transmits an ENQ (05 hexadecimal) to the printer and the printer will respond with its status within five millis econds. If printing, i t will respond upon finishing th e current label, then resume printing.

A SA TO M-84PRO REAL TIME CLOCK The Real T ime ClockOption allows the date and time to be mai ntained in the local printer rat er than using the system clock. It consists of a sp ecial clock chip that replaces the EPROM on the main pcb assembly .
