Address Setting of the Remote Control Unit The address can be set in order to prevent interference between remote controllers when two Sanyo indoor units are installed near each other.

One of the two types of connectors illustrated at left is used. Their basic structure is the same for each. How to Disconnect Hold the resin connector cover, and pull the connector off. You cannot disconnect the connector by pulling the wire since it is locked inside.

10. TROUBLESHOOTING 10-1. Precautions before Performing Inspection or Repair NOTE PROCEDURE After checking the self-diagnostics monitor, turn the power OFF before starting inspection or repair. High-capacity electrolytic capacitors are used inside the outdoor unit controller (inverter).

10-5. Noise Malfunction and Electroma gnetic Interference An inv er ter A/C operates using pulse signal control and high frequencies. Therefore , it is susceptible to the eff ects of external noise, and is lik ely to cause electromagnetic interference with nearb y wireless devices .

What is New Refrigerant R410A? R410A is a new refrigerant that contains two types of pseudo-non-azeotropic refrigerant mixture.
Tubing precautions Refrigerant R410A is more easily affected by dust or moisture compared with R22, thus be sure to temporarily cover the ends of the tubing with caps or tape prior to installation. Never use 0.7mm-thick copper tubing or tubing which is less than 0.

11 Using the Remote Cont rol Unit (contin ued) • The batteries last about six months, depending on how m uch you use the remote contr ol unit. Replace the batteries when th e remote contro l unit’ s display fails to light, or when the remote contr ol cannot be used to change the air conditioner’ s settings.

Once y ou’v e found this best po sition, alwa ys keep th e remote control unit there.

20 Using the 1.2.3.5-Hour OFF Timer Tips f or Energ y Sa ving 1. 1.2.3.5-Hour OFF Timer This function causes the un it to op erate for 1, 2, 3 or 5 hour s and then stop, regar dless of whether the unit is on or off when the b utton is pressed. The timer indica tor in the display indicates that this funct ion is operating.
21 Adjusting the Airflo w Direction The horizontal an d vertica l airflow can be adjust ed by moving the v er tical v anes and the flap with the remote cont rol un it. Confir m that the remote contro l unit has been turned on. Use the FLAP bu tton to set either the s weep function or one of the six airf low direction settings.
22 Operation without the Remote Control Unit Care and Cleaning INDOOR UNIT If you hav e lost the remote contr ol unit or it has trouble, f ollow the steps below .

24 Care and Cleaning (continued) Air Clean Filt er The ai r clean filter remov es dust and dirt from the air , and reduces odors and smoke from tobacco. This air c lean filter cannot remo ve harmful gases or v apors nor ventilate air in the r oom. Y ou m ust open doors or windows frequentl y when you use gas or oil heati ng appliances.
25 T roub leshooting If your air conditioner does not work properly , first chec k t he follo wing points before reques ting service. If it still does not work properly , contact y our dealer or service center .
