10 GB Using the digital rec e iver for the f irst time 1. Pla ce your digital receiver on a flat surfa ce. 2. Insert the a da ptor plug into the DC in socket located on the ba ck of your digital receiver ensuring that the plug is pushed fully into the socket.
11 Operating your digital rece iver – DAB 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on the digital receiver . If the digital receiver ha s been used before the la st used mode will be selected. 2. Press a nd relea se the Band button a s needed so that DAB mode is selected on the display.
12 GB Selecting a DAB radio station 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver . The display will show “TUNING” for a few seconds. 2. Press the Ba nd button to select DAB ra dio mode. The display normally shows the na me of the current station selected.
13 Display mode s – DAB Y our digital receiver ha s a range of display options when in DAB mode: 1. Repeatedly press a nd relea se the Info button to cycle through the different options. a. b. c. d. Displays the na me of the station being listened to.
14 GB e. f. g. h. i. The display will revert to a conventional time display 10 seconds after the la st button pressed except when displaying scrolling text. A signal strength indicator is always shown in the display on the upper right corner. If the currently tuned station ha s been stored a s a pre set, then the preset number will also be shown.
15 Finding new station s – DAB Should you wish to use your digital receiver f or DAB reception in a new location, or if no station were detected during the initial sca n, you ca n follow this procedure to allow your digital rec eiver to find out which DAB ra dio station s are availa ble.
16 GB M a nual T uning - DAB Ma nual tuning allows you to tune directly to the various DAB Ba nd III cha nnels. DAB Band III cha nnels are located in the range 5A to 13F . 1. Press a nd hold the Inf o button to enter Advanced Inf ormation so that the display shows “MANUAL”.
17 Dyn a mic Ra nge Control (D RC) settings – DAB Dyna mic Range Control (also knows a s DRC) ca n ma ke quieter sounds ea sier to hear when your radio is used in a noisy environ ment. This function is only for the DAB waveba nd. 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver .
18 GB Operating your digital re ce iver – Se arch tuning FM 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver . 2. Press the Ba nd button a s needed until the FM ba nd is selected. 3. Press a nd relea se the Auto-tune button to carry out a n auto-tune.
19 M a nual tuning – FM 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver . 2. Press a nd relea se the Ba nd button to select FM radio mode. 3. Rotate the Tuning control to tune to a station. The frequency will cha nge in steps of 50kHz.

Note: If no RDS information is available, then the digital receiver will only be able to display the frequency .
21 FM stereo / mono If the FM radio station being listened to ha s a wea k signal some hiss may be audible. It is possible to reduce this hiss by forcing the radio to play the station in mono rather tha n stereo. 1. Press the Ba nd button a s needed to select the FM radio mode display a nd tune to the required FM station a s previously described.
22 GB Pre setting station s in DAB a nd FM mode s There are 10 memory presets ea ch for DAB and FM radio. Apart from the 10 presets, there are 4 my favorite stations. They are used in the sa me way for ea ch waveband. 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver .
23 Recalling a pre set in DAB a nd FM modes 1. Press the Sta ndby button to switch on your digital rece iver . 2. Select the required waveba nd by pressing the Ba nd button. 3. T o tune to one of the 4 my favorite stations stored in my favorite stations, press a nd relea se the my favorite station button.
24 GB Clock a nd Alarms Automatically updating the clock Y our digital rece iver will normally update the clock automatically when tuning to the radio broa dca st. After a power failure the digital receiver will then set its clock the next time that you turn on the digital receiver in DAB or FM mode.
25 Setting the date format 1. With your digital re ceiver switched on, press a nd hold down the Menu button to a ccess the menu setting. 2. Rotate the T uning control until “DA TE FMT” shows on the display . Press a nd relea se the Tuning control to enter the date f ormat setting.
26 GB Setting the alarm clock Y our DCR-200 digital receiver ha s two alarms which can ea ch be set to wa ke you to DAB, FM radio, voice message or buzzer alarm. The alarms may be set while the unit is in sta ndby mode or while playing. The alarm clock setting will not function when the display a ppears NO CLOCK.
27 7. Rotate the Tuning control to choose the required alarm mode, a nd then press a nd relea se the T uning control to confirm the setting. The alarm ca n be set to buzzer, DAB ra dio, FM radio, or voice message. When radio mode is selected, the radio alarm is set to the station most recently listened to.
28 GB 8. Rotate the Tuning control to select the required alarm frequency option when radio mode is selected. The display will show the frequency options f or the alarm.
29 When the alarm sounds The alarm icon will fla sh at the display when an alarm is sounding. T o cancel a n alarm, press the Standby button to return to Sta nd-by mode. When the buzzer alarm a ctivates, the alarm will start softly a nd gradually incre a se in level.
30 GB Snooze 1. When the alarm sounds, press a ny button other tha n the Sta ndby button will silence the alarm for five minutes. The snooze symbol will a ppear in the display . 2. T o ca ncel the snooze timer while the alarm is suspended, pre ss the Sta ndby button.
31 Egg timer function 1. Press a nd relea se the Egg timer button to enter ti mer setting a nd rotate the Tuning control to a djust the minute setting during 1 a n d 120 minutes with 1 minute interval.
32 GB Display a nd Audio Brightness control The brightness of the display when the unit is in sta ndby mode may be adjusted. If you use the unit in the bedroom, you may prefer a lower sta ndby brightne ss level tha n the sta ndard setting. 1. Press the Ba cklight button so that the display shows for exa mple “LIGHT 4”.
33 Moon LED When using the digital receiver , you can turn on the moonlight LED at the bottom of the receiver for your better listening experience. 1. Press a nd hold the Menu button to enter the menu setting. 2. Rotate the Tuning control until the display show “MOON LED”.
34 GB Me ssage function The message function ca n record a nd playback with 2 sets of voice message for 10 se conds e a ch. 1. Press a nd hold the Message button to record the voice up to 10 seconds length. The LED is lighted during recording a nd the display will show RECORD.
35 Key tone adjustment The sound of pressing the buttons of the rec eiver ca n be adjusted ma nually . 1. Press a nd hold the Menu button to enter the menu setting. 2. Rotate the Tuning control until the display shows “KEY TONE”. Press a nd relea se the T uning control a nd sele ct ON or OFF to a ctivate or de a ctivate the key tone sound.
36 GB Auxiliary input socket A 3.5mm stereo Auxili ary Input socket is provided on the rear of your digital receiver to permit a n audio signal to be fed into the unit from a n external audio device such a s iPod, MP3 or CD player. 1. Repeatedly press a nd relea se the Ba nd button until “AUX IN” is displayed.
37 Information System reset If your radio fails to operate correctly, or some digits on the display are missing or incomplete carry out the following procedure. 1. Press a nd hold the Inf o button when the ra dio is in DAB or FM mode to enter Adva nced Inf ormation.
38 GB Software version display 1. Press a nd hold the Info button when the radio is in DAB or FM mode to enter the Advanced Inf ormation. 2. Rotate the Tuning control until the display shows “SW VER”. Press the Tuning control again to show your digital receiver’s software information.
