9 Chapter 2 Overview The Samsung SVR-440 is a di gital video recorder desi gned to be used as the sec urity device in small shops, c onvenience stores, banks, ATMs, etc. It i s a stand-alone device, s ecuring system performance and saf ety. The Samsung SVR-440 saves vi deo images on the HDD instead of on videotapes.

21 Chapter 3 How to Install 3.1 How to Connect All Parts The connection l ayout for the SVR-440, the monitor, CCTV and external devices are described below.
22 3.2 Detailed Connection 3.2.1 Cam era SVR-440 can acc ommodate up to 4 cameras for CCTV. C onnect the BNC terminal of each camera to the CAMERA IN terminal of the uni t. 3.2.2 Audio The Samsung SVR-440 can save audio inf ormation. For storage or output of audi o information, it is required to connect the rel evant devices.
23 Audio Output Connect the RCA Audi o Output Terminal (monitor with a s peaker, etc.) to the AUDIO OUT terminal on the rear of the unit. 3.2.3 Monitor Connect the VIDEO OUT ter minal of the MONITOR OUTP UT and the BNC terminal of the monitor using the BNC c able for video data output to the main moni tor.
24 3.2.4 External Con nector Alarm Input (ALARM IN ) This external s ensor connection terminal transfers data from the connected sensor or devic e to the unit. Relay Output (RELAY OUT) This Alarm Output terminal u ses the co ntact relay for the alarm output to the external devices.
25 External Control Devic e Terminal(RS–422/485) This terminal is c onnected to external control d evices. The JP2 termination that set is turns on and off the termination resi stance of RS–422/48 5 communication device. The JP 2 termination is inside of the DVR.

31 4.2 Default Setup The SVR-440 is deli vered to customers with the f actory default values as described below. To initialize the menu setup to the f actory default values, select [YES] for the [DEFAULT] item in [SYSTEM SETUP]–[ETC] on the menu.
