An empty battery icon indicat es the batteries need to be recharged . Place the handset on the charger to recharge the batteries. A handset reaching a very low battery voltage level will go into sleep mode , displaying L OW BA T T on the L CD screen.
In order to make sure the original audio settings hav e not been affected , please follow the steps below . Step 2: Adjusting the audio setup For Window s® 2000: With the base turned on and the USB plug inser ted into a USB por t, click ST ART and selec t CONTROL P ANEL.
Step 4 : Reaut h orizing PH IP65 to use Skype A djusting the PC’ s speaker volume : The speaker volume might aff ect the sound quality of the phone. Please follow the st eps below to adjust the speaker volume . About the USB Drive r Once the driver is installed on the PC, it should auto star t when the PC is turned on.
For Window s 2000: Click on ST ART and then selec t SET TINGS > CONTROL P ANEL. Double click on SOUNDS AND MUL TIMEDIA and click on the Audio tab . F rom Sound Playback pull down box, selec t USB A UDIO DRIVE and click the APPL Y k ey at the bottom; then click on the VOL UME key .
During the registration period , SEARCH BASE will appear on the handset. A confi r mation tone will be heard if the registration is successful. The handset label, the handset number and the clock will be displayed . The status icon will be shown as well if the PC is setup properly with the base.
Calling a Skype™ user from con tact list: Press key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select the SKYPE user to call. Press the T ALK key or key to call the selec ted contact. The contact’ s name will be displayed and the contact will be called . 1. 2.

Quick dialing: Ending calls: Press the EXIT key or place the phone on the char ger . 1. Caller ID: When the caller ’ s name or Sk ype ID shows up on the L CD display . T urning off the ringer: Press and hold the # when the phone is in standby to turn off the ringer for all calls.
Second calls: If using Skype, users can make or receive calls without ex tra charges. If using a landline, the call waiting featur e must be purchased through the local phone company . Second outgoing calls: Users c an only make sec ond outgoing calls via the line your current call is on.
Chain dialing: Call contac ts from the phone bo ok even after the user has seized the phone line. There is no limit to the number of times chain dialing is accessed . Press and hold the PHONEBOOK key f or 2 seconds. Press the UP or DOWN k eys to scroll through the phone book rec ords.
Using the mute function: During a call, if the user wishes to speak to someone privately without having the caller hear the conv ersation, follow the steps pro vided below: Press the MUTE key ; this turns off the microphone and will not allow sound to c ome through the caller ’ s earpiec e.
Storing entries: Please note that contacts on the Skype contact list cannot be stored to either of the phone books. Memory full: If the phone book is full, FULL will be displayed on the phone ’ s L CD screen. Managing contacts in a phone book: Press the MENU key; select PHONEBOOK and press the OK key .
Cop ying entries in a phone book: Press the MENU key and select PHONEBOOK and press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select phone book to open; PRIV A TE or SHARED. Press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select TO SHARED or T O PRIV A TE, and then press the OK key .
Deleting quick dial numbers: Press the MENU key and select PHONEBOOK and press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select PRIV A TE phone book, and then press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select QUICK DIAL , and press the OK key . The fi rst quick dial k ey is displayed .
Viewing av ailable space in phone book: Press the MENU key and select PHONEBOOK and press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to select which phone book t o open; PRIV A TE open; PRIV A TE open; PRIV or SHARED , press the OK key . Press the UP or DOWN keys to selec t ST A TUS.
The phone keeps a record of each time a call comes in or goes out. U sers can access a list of up to 15 missed calls and 5 receiv ed calls. If the user has subscribed to a caller ID ser vice from the local phone company , both landline and Skype calls will be automatically stored.
Calling a number from the history list: When users view the call history , they can return a missed or received call by selec ting the contact and pressing the T ALK key . The call will be returned using the same service the original call was placed through.
Stripping an area code: Press the MENU key . Select ADV ANCED SET and press the OK key . Select AREA CODE and press the OK key . Enter the area code and pr ess the OK key to confi r m. 1. 2. 3 . 4. Viewing the dialed call list: Press t he REDIAL key .
Deleting a dialed number in the call list: Press the MENU key . Select DELETE and press the OK key . Press the OK key again to c onfi rm deletion. 1. 2. 3 . While scrolling through the history of out going calls , the user can delete an y number from the list using the following: Deleting an entire dialed call list: Press the MENU key .
Checking voicemail messages: Skype V oicemail: T o get a voicemail account, please go t o www.skype.com/pr oducts/sk ypevoicemail for further details. New V oicemail: When there is a new voicemail, the icon appears on the top line of the display during standby .
The PHIP65 comes with a selection of settings that the user can change to personalize the phone. Personalizing the phone will be done using the individual menu options . At an y time the user can press BACK to exit the current menu or cancel the confi rmation.
T urning the backlight on and off : The display and keypad will be lit when the phone is being used . Press the MENU key and select PERSONAL SET . Press the OK key . Select BACKLIT and press the O K key . The current BACKLIT is display ed. S elect ON or OFF and then press the OK key to confi rm.
Setting the handset’ s time: Press the MENU key . Select CLOCK / ALARM and press the OK key . Select SET CLOCK and pr ess the O K key . T he current time is displayed . Edit the time by using the digit keys. Press the OK key to c onfi rm. 1. 2. 3 .
Setting alarm volume: Press the MENU key . Select CLOCK / ALARM and press the OK key . Select ALARM T ONE and press the OK key . S elect VOL UME and press the OK key . Setting a pause: Press the MENU key and select ADV ANCED SET . Press the OK key . Select P AUSE and press the OK key . T he selected pause duration is display ed. Press the UP and Down key to select the P ause duration. Pr ess the OK key to confi rm.
Unregistering another handset: 1. 2. 3 . A handset can unregister another handset register ed to the same base. It cannot unregister itself . The call waiting call cannot be answered . Battery icon remains empty although the handset has charged for 24-hours .
