8 English Getting Started Disc Types and Characteristics Blu-ray Disc Compatibility Blu-ray is a new and evolving format. Accordingly, disc compatibility issues are possible. Not all discs are compatible and not every disc will play back. For additional information, refer to the Disc Types and Characteristics section of this Manual.
