9 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller 1. Display - The backlit L CD is the command center for the Graphit e 25. It displays the current setup information, performance data, adjustable parameters and controller information.
10 13. T rigger Pads - The four velocity-sensitive trigger pads can be assigned to send MIDI note or control inf ormation, and can be set as either toggle or momentary st yle buttons. F or added control, these pads f eature four v elocity cur ves as well as aftertouch.
11 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller Rear P anel Contr ols and F unctions 1. POWER Switch - U se this switch to turn the keyboard on or o . 2. DC IN - The Graphite 25 can be power ed using a 9V 300mA adaptor , connec ted to the DC IN jack.
12 Quick Star t 1. Connect the Graphite 25 to your comput er using the supplied USB cable. The unit will receive po wer and transmit MIDI data via the USB connection. 2. Connect a ¼” TS pedal to the SUST AIN pedal input. 3. Push the POWER switch to the on position.
13 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller Display F eatures The Graphite 25 fea tures a backlit LCD scr een that displays performance and status information. Data - The current value of a giv en controller . Operation - When a component is activated, the c omponent name and operation data will be shown.
14 Graphite 25 Modes The Graphite 25 has four main oper ation modes: Performance Mode, P reset Mode, Setup Mode and Zone Mode . Preset Mode - In this mode, you can acc ess the 30 available presets. A pr eset stores information on the assignments for the slider , knobs, and buttons.
15 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller Remote C ontrol P resets The Graphite keyboard can be used as a c ontrol surface for most audio software titles. Along with presets that can be customized t o tailor the keyboard to your work en vironment, the Graphite 25 comes with presets for man y popular audio programs.
16 Pr eset Mode T o select a preset, press the PRESET button and the keyboard will enter P reset Mode. The Pr eset indicator will light red, and the P reset number will ash under the PRESET tag. While in PRESET mode, the Graphite 25 will stop transmitting MIDI messages.
17 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller Setup Mode Setup Mode enables you to make adjustments to how the Graphit e 25 will operate. Pr essing the SETUP button will enter Setup Mode, the keyboard will stop transmitting MIDI data, and the rst 18 keys will serve as numerical input and access to additional functions.
18 Setup Mode Editing the Aftertouch Control Press the A fter touch key to assign con trol code for the keyboard aftertouch featur e. “ A.T ouch” will appear on the display with the value of the current con trol in the data area. Use the DA T A +/– buttons to change the value, or en ter data by pressing the numerical keys on the keyboard .
19 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller Selecting V elocit y C urve for the T rigger Pads Press the P ad V el key to select a velocity cur ve f or the trigger pads. “P .Cur ve ” will appear in the Op- eration area of the display with its curr ent velocity cur ve number in the data ar ea .
20 Zones Mode The keyboard can be divided into thr ee zones, sometimes ref erred to as layers or splits. Each z one has its own active key range, prog ram number , MSB, LSB, Channel , Port, Octave, and Transpose settings. The zones can be separated or overlapped.

22 P er formanc e Mode Octave Buttons The Octave buttons allow you t o shift the oc tav e of the keyboard up or down to extend the range of the keyboard. P ress the OCT A VE +/– buttons to shift the oc tave up or do wn a maximum of four octaves. P ress the OCT A VE +/– buttons together to reset the octave shift to zero .
23 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller T rigger Pads The keyboard fea tures four assignable velocity-sensitiv e trigger pads with after touch. The factor y setting for the trigger pads is to function as drum pads. When you strike a pad, a cor- responding icon will appear , and its note MIDI message will be transmitted on channel 10.
24 P er formanc e Contr ols The Graphite 25 fea tures eight assignable encoders (E1–E8), volume slider (S1), f our function but- tons (F1–F4) and transport controls. Below is a brief description of how these f eatures operate. Encoders The factory setting for the encoders is pan control, set to channels 1–4.
25 Graphite 25 · USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller T ranspor t Buttons There are v e transport buttons marked . The factory default settings are to Rewind, F ast F or ward , Stop, Pla y , and Record, respectively . Please see detailed information for the default settings in the table below .
26 MIDI OUT In addition to USB, the Graphite 25 f eatures a MIDI OUT jack. T he USB communication proto- col supports four virtual USB I n ports and four virtual USB Out por ts. MIDI messages from the keyboard set to P ort 1–4 are transmitted via the USB Out.
