A. Introduction Thank you for selecting the DV1501 portable DVD player . The main features include a 5.8" Wide Screen (16:9 Aspect Ratio) Liquid Crys- tal Display (LCD) monitor and a DVD player . The unit applies the latest state of the art electronics and is designed for use in hotels, offices or your home.
5. Cleaning Unit When cleaning, make sure the system is unplugged from the power source. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a cloth lightly dampened with water for cleaning the exterior of the system only . 6. Disc Do not use irregularly shaped discs such as heart or star-shaped discs as they may cause the unit to malfunction.

f. T o turn off the DVD player , slide POWER ON/OFF to OFF . The DVD player ’s POWER indicator turns of f. g. T o remove the disc, open the disc tray , then you will see a picture on the right inner.
G . SETUP Press ‘SETUP’ to display the Main screen of the SETUP Menu on the screen. Press ‘SETUP’ again to exit the SETUP Menu and the unit will resume it’s last playback or stop mode. 1) Select ‘GENERAL SETUP’ using the UP/DOWN buttons, then press ‘ENTER’ to enter the GENERAL Setup screen.
* WIDE: When the player is connected to a wide screen TV , a wide picture is shown on the full screen. b. Select ‘ANGLE MARK’ using UP/DOWN, and then press the RIGHT button to enter the submenu. Choose Angle Mark on or off displayed on the screen using the UP/DOWN and then press ENTER to confirm the setting.
2) When there is no disc inside the player select ‘PREFERENCES’ using UP/DOWN, then press ‘ENTER’ to enter the preferences page. a. Select ‘AUDIO’ using UP/DOWN, then press ‘RIGHT’ to enter the submenu. Select the audio language you desire using UP/DOWN, then press ‘ENTER’ to confirm the setting.
11 c. Select ‘DISC MENU’ using UP/DOWN, then press ‘RIGHT’ to enter the submenu. Select the Disc Menu Language you desire using UP/DOWN, then press ‘ENTER’ to confirm the setting. Press ‘LEFT’ to return. Note: Language and subtitle selection is only available for discs that are recorded in the above listed languages.

13 NOTE: The Default Password is 3308 . This password is al- ways effective even after you have selected your own pass- word and changed it. T o avoid the possibility of others using the default password to set the parental level and change the pass- word, you can record this default password in another area and delete it from this manual.
14 1. Basic Operation T urn the unit on/off Eject/load the disc S tart Play/Execute item or setting Play at 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or 1/16 times speed S till Picture (1 time) S top at the present playing point.
15 2. MENU A DVD is divided into sections called titles and chapters. When you play a DVD, a root menu of the disc will appear on the screen of your TV or Monitor . The content s of the menu vary from disc to disc. Press MENU during playing to display the menu, and press ENTER or PLA Y to st art playing.
16 c. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ the 3rd time to display the Elapsed T ime for the chapter . The heading will disappear automatically in about 3 seconds. d. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ the 4th time to display the Remaining T ime for the chapter . The heading will disappear automatically after 3 seconds.
3) SUBTITLE During disc playback press ‘SUBTITLE’ to select the subtitle lan- guage you desire*, with the current Subtitle Language Number (1) and the total Number of Subtitle Languages (2) displayed. If there are multiple languages press ‘SUBTITLE’ again to select another subtitle language.
4) AUDIO During playback press ‘AUDIO’ to select the audio language you desire*, with the current Audio Channel Number (1) and the total number of Audio Channels (2) displayed. Press AUDIO again to select another audio language. The audio display will disappear automatically if the ‘AUDIO’ button is not pressed again for 3 seconds.
6) A-B REPEA T a. During playback press ‘A-B’ to set the Starting Point A. b. Press ‘A-B’ to set the Ending Point B and the player will re- peatedly play the part between Point A and Point B. c . Press ‘A-B’ a 3rd time to Cancel A-B Repeat.
7) REPEA T a. During playback press ‘REPEA T’ once to repeatedly play the current chapter . b. During playback press ‘REPEA T’ again to repeatedly play the current title. c. During playback press ‘REPEA T’ a 3rd time to repeat all Chapters and T itles.
4. PLA YING AUDIO CDS When playing an audio CD. Press the DISPLA Y button on the remote to display the DISPLA Y Banner . The options below show you what happens when you press the DISPLA Y button. a. During playback press ‘DISPLA Y’ once and SINGLE ELAPSED will appear along with the current track playing and the time of that track.
d. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ four times and TOT AL REMAIN appears along with the current track playing and the amount of time remaining on the CD. e. Press ‘DISPLA Y’ a fifth times and “ DISPLA Y OFF” will appear momentarily then disappear . The CD time Information will not be displayed.
1. Insert an MP3 CD, the DVD video player will initialize the disc and the directory (folder) will be shown on the TV screen. Figure 35. MENU Screen Display When an MP3 disc is inserted into the unit, the menu screen appears automatically . Y ou can use the menu screen to change folders and songs.
DISPLA YING THE TIME ELAPSED AND TIME REMAINING Press the ‘DISPLA Y’ button on the remote to display disc information. The options below show you what happens when you press the ‘DISPLA Y’ button. a) Press ‘DISPLA Y’ once, and “SINGLE ELAPSED” will appear along with the amount of time the song has been playing.
NOTICE The upper left column is a list showing the name of folder . The upper right column is a list showing the name of song and the sub-folder . “ “ sign in front of a file name indicates that this is a folder , not an MP3 file. “MP3” sign in front of a file name indicates that this is a MP3 file.
26 H. Playing a Video Game (Refer to Figure 38) Plug the video output from your game system into the yellow video input jack(12) and the Audio output into the Audio input jack(13) on the right side of the unit, which takes priority to the built-in DVD player.
27 2. Connect the audio/video cable’s yellow plug into the DVD VIDEO OUT jack on the back of the unit, and the other yellow plug to the VIDEO INPUT jack on your TV or Monitor. J. Wired Headphones (Refer to Figure 38) Optional wired headphones may be used with the unit.
28 L. Rechargeable Battery Installation and Use The player utilizes a set of long-life NiMH batteries for portable power supply . The NiMH battery pack is specially designed for your player , please consult your dealer for purchasing the battery pack.
29 Using and Maintaining your Rechargeable Batteries 1. Please make sure you always use only the AC transformer included with the player to recharge your batteries. 2. Recharge effectiveness will degrade when environmental tempera tures drop below 50 o F (10 o C) or exceed 95 o F (35 o C).
30 Removing the Battery Pack: 1. First, make sure the player is in “S top” mode and that the AC power supply has been disconnected. 2. Press the release button in the down direction.
