4 n Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when per- forming an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the cutting tool “live” and shock the operator.

7 DOUBLE INSULA TION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual thr ee-wire grounded power cor d. All exposed metal parts ar e isolated from the internal metal motor components with protect- ing insulation.

9 FEA TURES KNOW YOUR LAMINA TE TRIMMER See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules.
10 INST ALLING/REMOVING CUTTERS See Figures 2 - 3. n Unplug the laminate trimmer. n Loosen the depth adjustment knob approximately 6-8 full turns. Do not remove the depth adjustment knob. n Push the depth adjustment knob and compress the spring. This will allow the pinion gear to pass over the last tooth of the rack.
11 WARNING : Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury . WARNING : Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating power tools.
12 OPERA TING THE LAMINA TE TRIMMER See Figure 6. Befor e star ting the trimmer , unp lug it and make s ure the cut- ter is securely tightened in the collet and that the depth of cut is properly set. Never start the trimmer while the cutter is in contact with the workpiece.

14 speed an d is ta king very small bites t o pr oduce tin y , cl eanly- severed chips. If the trimmer is for ced to move forwar d too fast, the speed of the cutter becomes slower than normal in re lation to its f orwar d mov ement. As a r esult, the cutter mu st take bigger bites as it revolves.
15 Fig. 10 DEPTH OF CUT See Figure 10. Depth of cut affects the rate of feed and the quality of a cut. Using the pr oper depth of cut can lessen the possibility of damage to the trimmer motor and cutter . A deeper cu t requ ir es a sl ower fe ed than a sh all ow one.
16 SETTING DEPTH OF CUT See Figure 11. n Unplug the laminate trimmer. n Rotate the depth adjustment knob counterclockwise. n Slide the motor housing section of the trimmer upward until the tip of the cutter reaches the work surface. The depth of cut is zero at this point.
17 OPERA TION Fig. 14 USING EDGE GUIDE See Figure 14. ���Use the edge guide to trim or cut a straight edge. n Unplug the laminate trimmer. n Thread guide bars into the base and tighten with a flat head screwdriver. n Slide the edge guide onto the guide bars.
