For EMI countermeasure, us e the ferrite core by c onnecting the user interface ca ble. When the user interface cable is connected with the emulator or us er system, connect the ferrite core in the us er system as shown i n figure 1.
1.2 Connecting the E10A Emulator with the User System To connect the E10A emulator (hereina fter referred t o as the emulator), the H-UDI p ort connector must be installed on the user system to connect t he user system interface cable. When designing the user system, refer t o the recommended circuit between the H-UDI port connector and the MCU.

Section 2 Specifications of the SH7630 E10A Emulator’ s Software 2.1 Differences between the SH7630 and the Emulator • When the emu lato r system is initiated, it initializes th e g eneral reg ister s an d part of the control registers as s hown in table 2.
• Reset Signals The SH7630 res et signals are only valid duri ng emulation s tarted with cli cking the GO or STEP- type button. I f these signals are input from t he user system i n command input wait s tate, they are not sent t o the SH7630. Note: Do not break the user program when t he /RESETP and /WA IT signals are being low.
• UBC When [User] is specified in th e [UBC mode] lis t box in the [ Configuration ] dialog box, the UBC can be used in the us er progra m. Do not use the UB C in the use r program as it is used by the E10A emul ator when [EML] i s specified in the [U BC mode] li st box in the [Co nfiguration] dialog box.
• Illegal Instru ctions If illegal instru ctio ns are executed by STEP-type command s, the emulato r cannot go to the next program count er. 2.2 Specific Functions for the SH7630 E10A Emulator The SH7630 E10A em ulator d oes not support the following function: • MMU-related funct ions (The S H7630 does not m ount the MMU.
Table 2.4 Ty pes of Break Co ndit ions Break Conditi on Type Description Address bus condition (A ddress) Breaks when the SH7630 ad dress bu s value or th e program counter value matc hes the spe cifi ed val ue. Data bus c ondition (Dat a) Breaks when the SH7630 dat a bus va lue matches th e specified value.
Table 2.5 lists the combi nations of conditions that can be set under Break Condition 1, 2, 3. Table 2.5 Di alog Boxes for Setting B reak Condition s Type Dialog Box Address Bus Condition (Address).
AUD Trace Functions: This fun ction is operational wh en the AUD pin of the d evice is connected to the emulator. Table 2.8 shows th e AUD trace acq uisition mode that can be set in each trace function.
To set the AUD trace acquisition mode, click the [Trace] window with the right m ouse button and select [Setting] from the pop-u p menu to display the [Acquis ition] dialog box. The AUD tr ace acquisition mode can be s et in the [AUD mode1] or [AUD mode2] group box in the [Tra ce mode] page of the [Acq uisition] dial og box.
(a) Branch Trace Function The branch source and destinat ion addresses and thei r source l ines are displayed. Branch trace can be acquire d by selecting the [Branc h trace] check box in the [AUD fu nction] group box of the [Trace mode ] page. The branch type can be selected in the [AUD Branch trace] page.
Figure 2.3 [W indow trace] Page Note: Wh en the [L-bus] or [I-bus] r adio button is selected, the f o llowing bus cycles will be traced. L-bus: A bus cycl e generated by the CPU is acqui red. A bus cycle is also acquired when the cache has been hit.
(c) Software Trace Function Note: This functio n can be supported with SHC comp iler V7.0 and later. When a specific instruction is executed, the PC value at execution and the contents of one general register are acquire d by trace. Describe the Trace(x ) function (x is a va riable name) to be compiled a nd linked be forehand.
Internal Trace Function: This function is activated by selecting the [Internal trace] radio button in the [Trace type] group box of the [T race mode] page. Se e figure 2.1, [Trace m ode] Page. The internal trace functions are als o activated by selecting each check bo x on the [Branch trace ] page.
6. When a BREAKP OINT is set to th e slot instructio n of a delayed branch in struction, the PC value becom es an illegal value. Accord ingly , do not set a BREAKPOI NT to the slot instructi on of a delayed branc h instructi on.
2.2.7 Notes on Setting the UBC_MODE Command In the [Confi guration] wind ow, if [User] is set while t he [UBC mode] list box has been set, t he STEP-type comman ds that use B reak Condition 2 for imple mentation cannot be used. 2.2.8 Performance Measurement Function The SH7630 E10A em ulator s upports the perf ormance measurement f unction.
