10 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert T op Bracket 5) Place the top bracket onto the top edge of the top panel (refer to Diagram 2). Diagram 2 6) Slide the top panel and bracket assembly carefully onto the baffl e plate ensuring the panel is centered. Make sure the tabs of the top bracket fi t into the baffl e openings (refer to Diagram 3).

14 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert INST ALLA TION Diagram 5 11 ) Push the FPI logo plate into the two holes in the bottom left corner of the faceplate. The standard fl ush door comes with a black frame. T o install the frame, simply hook the top door fl ange onto the top of the unit and swing the door towards the unit, (Diagram 1 and 2).
15 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert 1) Align the left side Faceplate T rim Bracket with the Firebox Flange and secure using 2 screws as shown in diagram 1.
16 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert INST ALLA TION 1) Remove the rivets from the surround by pulling off the hoseclamp (located at the backside of surround) with a screwdriver or plyer . Re-install the rivets by putting them through the holes on the sides of the sur- round.
17 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert WIRING DIAGRAM INST ALLA TION This heater does not require a 120V A.C. supply for operation. However , a 120V A.C. power sup- ply is needed for the fan/blower operation.
18 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 2) T urn gas control knob so indicator points to "OFF" position and allow 5 minutes for any gas in the combustion chamber to escape. 3) Turn gas control knob counterclockwise so indicator points to the "PILOT" position.

T urn the knob on the side of the faceplate to adjust to the desired speed. The fan will turn on as the stove comes up to operating temperature.
20 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert MAINTENANCE GENERAL VENT MAINTENANCE Conduct an inspection of the venting system semi-annually . Recommended areas to inspect as follows: 1) Check the V enting System for corrosion in areas that are exposed to the elements.
21 E33 FPI Direct V ent Gas Insert MAINTENANCE F AN MAINTENANCE If your fan requires maintenance or replace- ment, access to the fan is through the plate on the fl oor of the fi rebox. NOTE: the unit MUST NOT be operated without the fan access panel securely in place.
