6 Thank you for selecting the revolutionary REEBOK ® 9700 VISTA treadmill. The 9700 VISTA treadmill offers a selection of features designed to make your work- outs at home more enjoyable and effective.
7 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. With the help of a second person, carefully tip the treadmill onto its side as shown. Partially fold the Frame (55) so that the treadmill is more sta- ble. Do not fully fold the Frame until the treadmill is completely assembled.
8 2. Attach two Base Pads (81) to the base of the Uprights (85) in the indicated locations with two 1" Tek Screws (82). Note: One repla cemen t Bas e Pad may b e inc luded . Use the Bas e Pa d to re- pla ce any B as e Pad th at b eco mes wo rn. 85 81 82 82 2 3.
9 6. Raise the Frame (55) to the position shown. Have a second person hold the Frame until this step is completed. Remove the plastic ties from the ends of the Latch Assembly (76). Orient the Latch Assembly so that the large barrel and the knob are in the positions shown; make sure that all the holes are aligned as shown in the inset drawings.
10 10. Attach the console assembly to the Uprights (85) with four Console Bolts (72) and four 3/8" Star Washers (67) (only one side is shown). Start all four Console Bolts and then tighten them. 67 72 85 Console Assembly 10 9. Remove the band securing the TV C able (1 12) to the left Upright (85).
1 1 12. With the help of a second person, carefully lower the Uprights (85) to the position shown. Attach the Right Base Cover (86) with three 3/4" Screws (7) and two Base Cover Screws (63). Start all five Screws and then tighten them. Be careful not to overtighten the Screws.
12 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated 3/4" Screws (7) from the back of the Console Base (98). 2. While a second person holds the Console (105), connect the wire on the receiver (A) to the indi- cated wire extending from the Console.
13 HOW TO CONNECT AN ANTENNA Indoor Antenna 1. Place a VHF antenna in the desired loca- tion. Connect the 300 ohm flat w ire f ro m th e ant enna to a 30 0 o hm to 7 5 o hm a d a p t e r . 2. Push the 300 ohm to 75 ohm adapter onto the 75 ohm an- tenna terminal on the treadmill frame near the uprights.
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
15 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill cons ole offers an impres sive array of featu res des igned t o mak e your workout s mo re eff ec- tive and enjoyable. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and inc line of the treadm ill with the touch of a button.
16 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.

As you w alk or run on the treadm ill, t he scr een can display the follo wing e xercise inform ation: • The elapsed time. Note: When a program is se - lected, the screen will show the time remaining in the program instead of the elapsed time.

20 If the speed settings and/or incline settings are too high or too low, you can change the intensity level of the program at any time by pressing the in- crease and decrease buttons beside the User but- ton to change the target heart rate setting or the maximum target heart rate setting.

25 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that allows you to view treadmill usage information, select a sys- tem of measurement for the console, and turn on and turn off the demo mode. The information mode also al- lows you to adjust the settings of the television and to save channels into the television’s memory.
26 5 . Press the Power button again and save chan- nels into t he te levisi on’s memory. When the Power button is pressed, the television will begin scanning all of the channels available in your area. When no broadcast signal is detected on a channel, the channel will be skipped.

28 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Note: To release the latch knob, it may be necessary to push the frame for- ward as you pull the latch knob to the left.
29 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
30 Loc ate the Reed Switch (22 ) and the M agnet (18) on the left side of the Pulley (17). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between t h e Magnet and the Reed Swit ch is about 1/8 in. (3 mm). If necess ary, mov e the Reed Swit ch slightly using a slot ted sc rewdr i v er.
31 PROBLEM: The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly SOLUTION: a. With the key in the console, press one of the Incline buttons. While the incline is changing, re- move the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the max imu m inc line le vel and then r etur n to the minim um level .

33 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
