1 Y our cooker should giv e you many years of trouble-free cooking if installed and operated correctly . It is impor tant that you read this section befor e you start, par ticularly if you have not used a dual fuel cooker bef ore. Impor tant! This appliance is designed f or domestic cooking only .
2 Ac cessible par ts will become hot during use and will retain heat ev en after you have st opped cooking. Keep babies and childr en away from the c ooker and never w ear loose -tting or hanging clothes when using the appliance .

6 The C eramic Hotplate The hotplate ar ea on the lef t-hand side is dual purpose. It can be used either as a ceramic hob to heat a pan in the usual way (Fig . 2.11) or it can be used to heat the supplied griddle. The rear ar ea, marked with a r ing is for cooking with a pan.
7 The Griddle The griddle (F ig. 2.17) is designed to t securely on the locating pins over the c eramic heating area (Fig . 2.18) . Do not try to use it over one of the gas burners. It will not be securely held and you ma y damage the non-stick nish.

The grill has two elements that allo w either the whole area of the pan to be heated or just the right-hand half .
9 Multifunction O ven F unc tions Rapid Response The Rapid Response setting enables you to preheat the oven faster than normal . I t uses the fan oven element with additional heat from one of the elements in the top of the ov en.
10 The Slo w Cook Oven The Slow C ook oven is intended for slo w cook ing items such as casseroles, join ts of meat, etc. Y our Slow Cook oven is capable of cooking a complete meal; for instance – casser ole, rice pudding and jacket potatoes – or just warming the dishes (use only heat resistant dishes).
11 Slow C ook O ven The graduat ed temperature scale on the fascia (F ig. 2.27) allows you t o either cook slowly for sever al hours (A) or all day whilst you ar e out (B) . F or long scale cooking selec t the thicker end of the scale and for a shorter cooking time selec t the thinner end of it.
12 T o Stop the Multifunction Oven at a Specific T ime of Day Y ou have set the r equired temperature and function mode for the Multifunction O ven and you w ould like the Multifunc tion Oven to automatically stop . T OP TIP Make a note of the current time so you do not f orget.
13 T o Start and Stop the Multifunc tion Oven The Multifunction Oven allows you to automa tically star t and stop by a combination of the length of the c ook ing time and the stop time. Giving y ou the exibilty to cook casseroles etc while you are out.

Individual tastes may require the t emperature to be altered to pro vide a preferred result.
17 Essential Informa tion Isolate the electricity supply before carrying out any thorough cleaning . Allow the cooker to cool. Never use pain t solvents, washing soda, caustic cleaners, biological powders , bleach, chlorine based bleach cleaners, coarse abr asives or salt.
18 C eramic Hotplat e Daily Care F irst of all, make sure that the heat indicator light is o and that the cooking sur face is cool. Apply a small dab of ceramic cleaning cream in the c entre of the area to be cleaned . Dampen a clean paper towel and work the cream ont o the cook ing sur face.
19 Glide - out Grill The grill pan and trivet should be washed in hot soap y water . Alternatively , the grill pan can be washed in a dishwasher . After grilling meats or any f oods that soil, leave t o soak for a few minutes immediat ely af ter use. Stubborn particles may be remov ed from the trivet using a nylon brush.
20 C ontrol P anel and Doors Av oid using any abrasive cleaners , including cream cleaners. F or best results, use a liquid detergen t. The same cleaner can also be used on the doors. Alt ernatively , use a soft cloth wrung out in clean hot soapy water .
21 T able 5.1 Cleaning T able Cleaners listed (T able 5.1) are available from supermarkets or electrical retailers as stated. F or enamelled sur faces use a cleaner that is approved f or use on vitreous enamel. Regular cleaning is recommended. F or easier cleaning, wipe up any spillages immediately .

Are the sparker (ignition electrode) or burner slots blocked by debris? Are the burner trim and caps correctly located? See the section on ‘Cleaning’ .
