7 Befor e Use • The nomin a l temper ature should b e betwe en 41°F and 95° F (5°C and 35°C). The CD-R W reco rder is more sens itive to ex tremes of temper ature than o rdinar y CD pl ayer s. • Rel ative hum idity sho uld be 30 t o 9 0% non- conde nsi ng.
8 The pr ocess of writi ng this tabl e of content s is kn own as “f inali zing.” On ce th is ha s been done, no fu rther data can be written to the CD-R disc . A CD-RW disc that has been f inal ized ca n be “unfi nalized .” This al lows fu rther tr acks to be r ecorded to the disc, provid ed that ther e is space on the disc.
9 • Do not st ick pape rs or p rotectiv e sh eets on th e discs and do not use any pr otective co ating sp ray . • Use a so ft oil-based felt-ti pped pen to write the informat ion on the label side. Never use a ball-poin t or har d-tip ped pen, a s this may cause d amage to th e rec ord ed sid e .
10 Connections and Setup Not e: Turn off the pow er of all the eq uipment b efore makin g connections and read the instruc tions of ea ch co mponent you inte nd to use wit h the CD recor der. LINE IN/OUT Jacks Connect the LINE IN / OUT jack s to your analo g source (rece iver) using the suppl ied RCA stereo patch cabl e.
11 DIGIT AL IN/OUT T erminals Connect the compo nent which ha s a digita l input o r output ter m inal using a digi tal coaxi al cable or an opt ical cab le (nei ther supplie d and availa b le at y our loc al RadioSha ck stor e). Insert DIGIT AL IN to your component’s outp ut ja ck ( DIGIT AL OUT ).

16 Oper ation Playing CDs You can us e the RECORD/PL AYBACK tray to play ba ck CD, CD-R, a nd CD-RW d i scs. You ca n use the PL AYBACK tray to play back CD and finalized CD-R/CD-RW discs. You canno t play CD-R/ CD-RW discs that haven’ t b een fin a liz ed on the PLAYBACK tray .

20 Addin g to th e Progr amm ed Sequenc e You can add tr acks at the end of a programme d sequence, up to a maxi mum of 32 tracks. 1. Press PROGRAM in th e stop mode . 2. Enter the desir e d tr ack nu mber , then press PROGRAM . The C D re cor der adds th e selection t o the end of the programm ed sequ ence.
