5 Introduction ˆ Introduction Thank you for purchasing our 900 MHz Cordless Telephone. It provide s excellent clarity and range and integrates Caller ID, Call Waiting ID, and a digital answering system into one space-saving device. The 900 MHz band provide s less interference, clearer sound, and greater range than 46/4 9 MHz cordless telephones.
6 Installation The remote operation feature lets you operate your answering system from a touch-tone phone (or from a rotary phone with a pocket tone dialer). T elephone Highlights 10 Number Memory Dialing — stores 10 numbers in memory for easy dialing.

11 Telephone Operation If your calling area requires 10-digit dialing including area code , do not enter the area code but leave this option blank. To store your area cod e: 1. 12 Telephone Operation SETTING THE HANDSET VO L U M E To adjust the handse t’s volume during a call, press 8 8 8 8 or 9 on the handset unti l you reach the desired volume level.

15 Caller ID Operation each group of numbers in its own memory location. Dial the service’s main number first. Then, at the appropriate place in the call , press MEM and enter the number for the location where the additional information is stored.
16 Caller ID Operation Caller ID Messages ADDING/DELETING THE AREA CODE When the area code of the received call is the same as the one you stored (see “Storing Your Area Code” on Page 10), the calle r ID record does not show the a rea code. If it is different, the record shows the area code.
17 Answering System Operation To delete a single Caller ID record: 1. Press CALL ID then 8 or 9 to recall the record you want to delete. 2. 18 Answering System Operation 4. Repeatedly press SKIP / ; or : / REPEA T until the correct hour appears, then press SET . The system announces and displays the minutes. 5. Repeatedly press SKIP / ; or : / REPEA T until the correct minutes appear , then press SET .
19 Answering System Operation message, the system uses it for all recording time settings (1, 4, and Announce Only). To switch between your outgoing message and the system’s prerecorded message, press MENU once to enter the outgoing message setting mode.
20 Answering System Operation The system stops recording and resets to answer the next call when: • The caller hangs up. • The maximum message length is reached. • The system detects a busy signal or more than 7 seconds of silence. • Y ou pick up the handse t or any phone on the same phone line.
21 Answering System Operation and the system announces the day and time of the call at the end of each message. To play all messages after playing the new messages, press PLA Y/STOP again. To skip to the next message, press SKIP / ; while the message is pla ying.

24 Troubleshooting ˆ T roubleshooting We do not expect yo u to have any problems with your phone, bu t if you do, these suggestions might help. Proble m Suggest ion Low volume or unusual sounds. Someone has picked up another phone on the same line. Hang up the other phone.
25 Troubleshooting If you still have problems, disconnect the phone. If other phones on th e same line work properly, the fault is in this phone or its installation. If you cannot find the problem, take your phone to your l ocal RadioShack store for assistance.
26 Troubleshooting CARE Keep the phone dry; if it gets wet, wi pe it dry immediately. Use and store the phone only in normal temp erature environmen ts. Handl e the phone carefully; do not drop it. Keep the phone away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
27 Troubleshooting telephone or power lines can damage your telephone. Lightning damage is no t common. Nevertheless, if you live in an area that has severe electrical storms, we suggest that you unplug your phone when storms appro ach to reduce the possibility of damage.
