Hardware Description Front Panel The front pa nel of the DCM series res embles traditio nal cinema mon itor produc ts. This provid es the proje ctionist a well known and easy to understand i nterface. Power Switch: The power on/off switch is the master cont rol for the DC M and the am plifiers conn ected to it.
Hardware Description (continued) NOTE: The DCM 10 and DCM 10D ha ve one output for ea ch surround zone an d 4 sub outputs. NOTE: All combining of the individual fre quency outputs (2-wa y , 3-way , or 4-way) is done automat ically , so all front panel moni - toring is of a full frequency signal.
Hardware Descri ption (continued) Rear Panel Amplifier DataPorts: Each DataPort provides two channels of audio from the DCM to the QSC amplifier in put, as well a s current and voltage monitoring of the amp’ s loudsp eaker outpu ts.
Hardware Description (continued) BYP ASS CROSSOVER MODE Switch : The BYP ASS CROSSOVER MODE switch routes the center chan nel input sign al through th e 2-way or 3-wa y bypass cross over on the DCM 30/ 30D. On the DCM 10/10D, the ce nter channe l is routed t hrough the 2 -way bypass cros sover or not proc essed at all (pas sive bypass).
Mounting Rack Mounting When rack mounti ng the DCM, s ecure the DCM to th e rack rails using four ma chine screws and washers o f the proper s ize. Most US rack equipment acce pt s #10-32 machines screws; length us ed depends upon applicat ion. The DC M will require 3-RU (rack units) of space.
Software Description DCM Manager Windows Software T o access the functions of th e DCM hardware , you must use QS C’ s DCM Manager 2007 co ntrol software . A USB cable is us ed to conne ct your PC to the DCM. One of the computer’ s availab le USB ports provide s communications be tween the DCM Manage r software and the DCM hardware.
Connections Making the re quired conn ections to t he DCM is simp le. Just make sure that you have all of the co rrect cables . “Mass-te rminatio n” connectors are used whe rever possib le. This re duces insta llation time fr om hours to minutes and ma kes any req uired conn ection changes fas t, easy , and reliable .

Sy stem Calibration When installing a typical ci nema sound sy stem, most of the calibration involves the Cinema Processor . Refer to the user manual for the Cinema Proc essor tha t you are usi ng.
T roubleshooting If the DCM Manager program is unable to commun icate with the DCM hardware... • V erify the USB cable con nections. Re- seat each ca ble-end. • T ry a known-good USB cable, if possible. • Confirm the USB port you are using is oper ating properly .
T roubleshootin g (continued) If theater audio is distorted ... • V erify that the DCM In put Clip LED i s not lit. If it is, the cinema processor out put signal needs to be turned down. •If any of the amplif ier CLIP warnin g LEDs are illuminat ing, the output level of the DCM must be reduced or ampl ifier input sen si- tivity must be reduced.
