10 © 2006 directed electronics system maintenance This system needs no specific maintenance beyond 2-way remote contr ol batter y replacement. The 2-way remote is pow ered by a 1.5V AAA batter y . The 1-way r emote is powered by a pair of 3V CR2016 batteries.

The high frequency combined with Binary Data communication achieves superior range with two- way communication.

19 © 2006 directed electronics The 2-way remote r esponds to active arming with one beep and the Orange LED will flash 3-times to indicate successful arming of the system. If after 2-seconds the r emote beeps once and the Orange and Red LEDs flash 3-times, the system has detected an activ e sensor that should be checked.
20 © 2006 directed electronics When armed y our vehicle is pr otected as follo ws: ➤ Light impacts trigger the W arn A way ® signal. When triggered, the siren chirps and the par king lights flash for a few seconds. ➤ H eavy impacts trip a T riggered Sequence.
21 © 2006 directed electronics multi-level security arming M ulti-Level S ecurity Arming allows you to select which of the security system's inputs or sensors will be active and which will be bypassed at the time that the system is armed. (S ee the T able of Zones section of this guide.
22 © 2006 directed electronics After each press of the to reach the next level of security , the remote will emit normal arm notification (1 beep and 3 flashes of the Orange LED). F or easiest operation in r eaching each level of security , press immediately a a f f t t e e r r each notification.
23 © 2006 directed electronics disarming without a transmitter This feature allo ws you to disarm the security system without the remote transmitter should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. I n order to disarm the system without a remote transmitter , you must have the vehicle ’ s ignition key and know where the V alet button is located.

26 © 2006 directed electronics M ode at any time, press , or on the remote trans- mitter again. valet mode Y ou can prev ent your security system from automatically arming and triggering by using V alet M ode. This is very useful when washing the vehicle or having it serviced.
27 © 2006 directed electronics The in-vehicle status LED will light solidly if you ar e entering V alet ® M ode, and it will go out if you are exiting V alet ® M ode. The remote r esponds with the normal arm notifications with each remote button pr ess.

I t prevents anno ying repetitive trigger sequences due to faulty door pin switches or environmental conditions such as thunder , jackhammers, airport noise, etc.

31 © 2006 directed electronics 2. Decr ease Sensitivity—P r ess and release the button to decrease shock sensor sensitivity b y one step. The siren will chirp 1-time for each step decreased in adjustment. When the shock sensor adjustment reaches minimum sensitivity (sensor is Off ) the sir en will emit 1 short and then 1 long chirp.
32 © 2006 directed electronics 2. The system will emit 3 chirps to indicate the sensor has been reset to lev el 10. 3. The system returns to shock sensor adjustment mode for further adjustment, if required.
33 © 2006 directed electronics if your vehicle has interior light exit delay , and you arm the system before the interior light goes out, y ou may hear Bypass N otification chirps. Once the light shuts off , however , the doors are monitor ed normally .

42 © 2006 directed electronics Soft Chirp ® sir en consists of six different tones in sequence. Any of these tones can be eliminated by your dealer , result- ing in a unique, easily identifiable siren sound.

S hould a carjacking occur , the VRS ® allows y ou to concern yourself with your personal safety without worrying about your property .

This is ho w the system works to combat intersection carjacking. T o protect against parking lot carjacking, arm the VRS ® before leaving the vehicle.

The starter kill will remain active until the system is disarmed. If the door is opened or the ignition is turned off and on in an attempt to restart the car , the siren and light flashing will begin again.

High Security Disarm: If the system is trigger ed this feature allows the user to silence the siren and r eset the system to the armed state without having to visually check the system status.
