1 8 www .pridemobility .com Select T raveller III. YOUR POWER CHAIR THE SELECT TRA VELLER The Select T raveller has two main assemblies: the seat assembly and the power base assembly . See figure 5. T ypically , the seat assembly includes the armrests, seatback, and seat base.

2 0 www .pridemobility .com Select T raveller III. YOUR POWER CHAIR Electrical Components The electrical components are located on the power base. The main circuit breaker is located toward the rear of the power base. The controller and charger connectors are located on the rear of the power base.
Select T raveller www .pridemobility .com 2 1 DRIVE MODE FREEWHEEL MODE DRIVE MODE FREEWHEEL MODE Manual Freewheel Levers The power chair has a manual freewheel lever on each motor . Manual freewheel levers enable you to disengage the drive motors in order to push the chair .

COMFOR T ADJUSTMENTS COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS After becoming familiar with your power chair ’ s operation, you may find the need to make some adjustments to increase your comfort, such as seat height, armrest width, foot platform depth, and controller position.
Select T raveller www .pridemobility .com 2 5 V . COMFOR T ADJUSTMENTS Controller Position Y ou can move the controller in toward or out away from the armrest, or change the position the controller for either left- hand or right-hand use.

Lift the armrest straight up so that it is perpendicular to the floor . See figure 13. 2. Loosen the jam nut. 3 . T urn the adjusting screw to raise the front of the armrest or to lower the front of the armrest.
Select T raveller www .pridemobility .com 2 7 VI. BA TTERIES AND CHAR GING BA TTERIES AND CHAR GING Y our power chair uses two long-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are sealed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level.
2 8 www .pridemobility .com Select T raveller VI. BA TTERIES AND CHARGING T o charge the batteries with the off-board charger: 1. Position your power chair next to a standard electrical outlet. See figure 15. 2. T urn off the power to the controller and engage the manual freewheel lever(s) in the drive position.
Select T raveller www .pridemobility .com 2 9 VI. BA TTERIES AND CHAR GING What type of batteries should I use? W e recommend deep-cycle batteries that are sealed and maintenance free. Both AGM and Gel-Cell are deep-cycle batteries that are similar in performance.

Like any motorized vehicle, it requires routine maintenance checks. Y ou can perform some of these checks, but others require assistance from an authorized Pride Provider .

Even though the po wer chair has passed the necessary testing r equirements for ingress of liquids, you should keep electrical connections away from sources of dampness, including direct exposure to water or bodily fluids and incontinence.

3 4 www .pridemobility .com Select T raveller VII. CARE AND MAINTENANCE 5. Slide the new wheel back onto the shaft. Make sure that the key is in the axle slot. 6. Reinstall the drive wheel nut and washer onto the axle and tighten. 7. Remove the power chair from the blocks.
Select T raveller www .pridemobility .com 3 5 VII. CARE AND MAINTENANCE 6. Reconnect the two (2) battery leads to the battery terminals. Make sure the red lead is connected to the (+) positive terminal and the black lead is connected to the (-) negative terminal.
