EFX 5.21/ 5.23 Elliptical Fi tness Crosstrainer Assembly Guide 4 Cut any wire ties that secure the cable to the stabilizer . Unwrap the cable and remove any kinks. F eed the cable throu gh the console bra c ket as shown in the illustr ati on. Slide the console br acket into the right stabilizer and align the three mounting holes.

If your E F X is a 5.21 model, please skip steps 8-11. Attach the right moving handlebar . Slide the ha ndlebar pivot joint onto the st abilizer axle (use a rubber mallet if needed).

Y ou will hear the cable clic k into place when it is properly attac h ed. Place the excess c able into the console bracket.

Important: If the E F X is placed on a slightly uneven surf ace, turning the leveling pads can help, but will not compensate for ex tremely uneven surfaces.

Use this program if you are beginning or returning to a regular fitness routine. T he exercise session time is fixed at 28 minutes and consists of seven 4-minute in tervals.
Owner’s Manual: Programs 28 CrossT rainer Program The CrossT r ainer Program (P4) has preprogrammed settings and an initial resistance of 1. The progra m consists of optimized se ttings comb ined with alternating forw ard and backward pedaling movements that focus on working t he thigh, gluteal, and calf muscle groups.
Owner’s Manual: Programs 29 Hill Climb P r ogram The Hill Climb Program (P6) has preprogrammed settings in a fixed pattern. It is designed to increa se muscl e tone, ca rdio- conditioning, and endurance over sever al weeks. The progr am consists of alternating forward and backward pedaling movements that focus on working the gluteal muscle group.
Owner’s Manual: Programs 30 Heart Rate Program The Basic H R C Progr am (P8) adjusts the resist ance to maintain your heart r ate within two beats per minute of the target heart r ate while you exercise.

Y our heart rate should never exceed 85% of your maximum aerobic heart rate. Y our maximum heart rate is equal to 220 minus your age.
