9 Introduct ion This manual is provided b y P owermatic, covering the s af e operation and maintenance procedures for a Mode l 511 Vertical Panel S aw. This manual co ntains instructions on installation, safety precautio ns , ge neral operat ing procedures, maintenance i nstruct ions and parts b reakdown.

11 A temporary adapter, s hown in F igure 6, can be used to connect a grounded plug to a two-pro n g outlet. The green r igid ear or lu g e x te n d in g f rom the adapter mu st be conn ec ted to a permanen t ground such as a properl y gro unded outlet box or receptacle.

15 A d ju sting Crosscut R uler s The panel s aw comes with o ne rip (v e rtical) ruler and two cross c ut (h o rizo ntal) rulers. The rip ruler is preset at the factory. The crosscut rulers should be checked an d, if necessary, adjusted bef ore operating the s aw.
16 Step 1: Align R ollers The two outermost roller s are f ixed, so adj u st a ll othe r ro llers to them. Place the 6-f oot edge of the square across the rollers to check for alignment. The edge of the s q uare should to uch all roller s. I f it does not, adjus t a s follows: 1.

18 Do not use clean i ng solvents su c h as gasoli n e, t u rpe n ti ne, lacquer thinner , paint th i nner , or ammon ia, as these are harmful to plastic a n d s ome of t h e i n s u late d parts o n th e mach i n e. Ne v er use flamm able or combustible sol v e nts around tool s.
