S If the rotor wi ll not rotate freely due to frozen ice, thaw the unit before t horoughly before attempting to operate under power.

14 S Operat e the engine at full thr ottle. S Hold the tr immer head parallel to and abov e the grass y area. S T ap the bott om of the trimmer head lightly on the groun d one time. A pprox imately 2 inc hes (5 c m) of line w ill be advanc ed wit h each tap .
15 MAINTE NANCE WAR N I N G : Dis c onnect the spar k plug before perfor ming maintenance except for car buretor adjustments . 17 TO REPLACE CHAIN : 1. Mov e ON/O FF s witc h to the OFF pos ition and disc onnect s park plug. 2. R emove bar c lamp nut. 3. R emove bar c lamp. 4. Turn adjus ting s cr ew by hand counter- cloc k wis e until adjus ting pin just touches the stop. 5.
18 CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT WAR N I N G : Keep others aw ay w hen making idle s peed adjustment s. The c hain will be mov ing during most of this pr ocedur e. Wear your protec tive equipment and obs erv e all safety pr ecautions . Aft er mak ing adjus t- ments, the c hain must not mov e at idle speed.
