Mov e mower as needed to inser t bar . - Secure with washer and retainer spring as shown using small 5/16 retainer spring. NO TE: Be sure mo wer side suspension arms (A) are point- ing f orward bef ore sliding mower under tractor .
8 CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your tr actor were o v erinfl ated at the f actory f or shipping pur poses. Correct tire pressure is impor tant f or best cutting perf ormance. • Reduce tire pressure to PSI shown on tires . CHECK DECK LEVELNESS F or best cutting results, mo wer housing should be properly le v eled.

12 OPERA TION T O USE CRUISE CONTROL -J (See Fig. 17) The cruise control feature can be used f or f orw ard tra v el only . SYSTEM CHARA CTERISTICS The cruise control should only be used while mowing or transpor ting on relatively smooth, str aight surf aces.

14 ADD GASOLINE • Fill fuel tank to bottom of fi ller nec k. Do not ov erfi ll. Use fresh, clean, regular un lead ed gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane. (Use of leaded gasoline will increase carbon and lead o xide deposits and reduce v alv e lif e).

18 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts f or deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if they begin to slip from w ear . TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be kept clean to assure proper cooling.
19 MAINTENANCE MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muffl er and spar k arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fi re hazard and/or dam- age. SP ARK PLUGS Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing season or after e v er y 100 hours of operation, whiche v er occurs fi rst.
