5 Before you start About this product XN-P02 or XN-P02DAB XN-P02 or XN-P02DAB Network Receiver System consists of Stereo receiver and Network audio player. N-P01 N-P01 Network Audio Player consists of the main unit. Note • The product may be used in conjunction with the following, separately retailed system products.
6 Remote control There are functions which can be operated only when the remote control is set in either of the network audio player control mod e, stereo receiver control mode or CD player control mode, and functions which can be operated regardle ss of the mode of the remote control.
7 Buttons available for the n etwork audio player control mode The following functions are available only when the remote control is in the ne twork control mode. Important • Press the CONTROL NET button before pre ssing the following buttons. 1 Input functio n buttons Use to select the input source to this player.
8 Buttons available for t he stereo receiver control mode The following functions are available only when the remote control is in the stereo receiver control mode. Important • Press the CONTROL RCV button before pressing the following buttons. 1 BAND N-P01:Switches between FM ST (stereo) and FM MONO radio bands (page 47 , 48 ).
9 Buttons available for the CD player contr ol mode The following functions are available only when the remote control is in the CD player control mode. Important • Press the CONTROL CD button before pressing the following buttons. 1 TOP MENU Press to display the iPod/iPhone/iPad mini top menu.
10 1 1 Controls and displays (N etwork audio player: N-P01) Front panel 1 STANDBY/ON button Switches the player between standby and on (page 14 ). 2 USB terminal Use to connect your USB mass storage device or iPod/ iPhone/iPad as an audio source (page 12 , 20 ).
2 2 11 Connecting your equipment (Network audio player: N-P01) CAUTION • Be sure to turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the power outlet whenever making or changing connections. • Connect the power cord after all the connections between devices have been completed.
12 2 2 Connecting your equipment (Network audio play er: N-P01) Connecting USB storage devices It is possible to listen to two-channel audio using the USB terminal on the front of this player. 1 Connect your USB device to the USB terminal on the front panel of this player.
13 2 2 Connecting your equipment (Network audio play er: N-P01) • When connecting the CONTROL IN/OUT jacks, commercially available audio co rds must also be used to make analog connections. Merely connecting the CONTROL IN/OUT jacks alone will not allow proper system control.
3 3 14 Getting started (Network audio player: N-P01) Setting the player When you use the player for the first time, the followi ng screens will be displayed. Set up the following items to customize the player. 1 Press NETWORK. The power indicator flashes slowly.
4 4 15 iPod/iPhone/iPad playback (Net work audio player: N-P01) Merely by connecting your iPod/iPhone/iPad t o this player, you can enjoy high-quality sound from your iPod/iPhone/iPad. Confirming what iPod/iPhone/iPad mode ls are supported The iPod/iPhone/iPad playable on this player are shown below.
4 4 16 iPod/iPhone/iPad playback (Network audio player: N-P01) Playing your iPod/iPhone/iPad CAUTION • When your iPod/iPhone/iPad is connected t o this player and you wish to operate the iPod/iPhone/iPad directly, be sure to hold the iPod/iPhone/iPad st eady with the other hand to prevent malfunction s due to faulty contacts.
5 5 17 Music playback using Bluetooth ® wireless technology (Network audio player: N-P01) The unit is capable of playing back music stored on Bluetooth capable devices (cell phones, digital music players etc.
5 5 18 Music playback using Bluetooth ® wireless technology (Network audio player: N-P01) • Connected Listen to music on the unit from a Bluetooth capable device 1 Press the BT AUDIO. The unit will switch to BT Audio input. 2 A Blueto oth connection will be created between the Bluetooth capable device and the unit.

6 6 20 USB playback (Network audio player: N-P01) Playing files stored on U SB storage devices This player may not recognize a USB storage device, play files or supply power to a USB stor age device. For details, see Connecting US B storage devices on page 12 .
21 7 7 Playback with NETWORK features (Network audio player: N-P01) Network setting If a broadband router (with built-in DHCP server function) is conne cted to this unit, you can simply turn on the DHCP server fu nction without having to set up the network manually.
7 7 22 Playback with NETWORK f eatures (Network audio play er: N-P01) A: Wired setting Make sure that the LAN cable connections has completed (page 12 ). 1 Press NET SERVICE SETUP. The Initial Setup screen is shown on the display. 2 Select Network Setting Network Config uration.

Note • If your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and the router are connected at 5 GHz then you will be unable to use this setting method.

Select DHCP to be Off and press ENTER in step 7. If your router does no t have a built-in DHCP server fu nction, you have to set up the network manually.

32 8 8 Additional information (Network audio player: N-P01) Troubleshooting Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check the po ints below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component.

Internet security software is currently installed in the connected component. There are cases where a component with Internet security software installed cannot be accessed.
