2 GENERAL INFORMATION - TECHNICAL DATA GENERAL INFORMATION The co ee machine is suitable for preparing espresso co ee by using co ee beans, and is equipped with a device to dispense hot wat er and brew milk-based products. The machine is designed for domestic use and not suitable for heavy or professional use.

4 1 4 7 8 5 6 3 2 STARTING THE MACHINE Before turning on the machine, mak e sure that the power butt on is set to "0" . Lift the right outer lid and r emove the inner lid. Remove the w ater tank using the handle. Press the pow er button to the "I" position to turn the machine on.
5 5 1 2 12 3 4 A B C 6 SETTING THE LANGUAGE This setting allows y ou to choose the operating language of the machine. It also allows y ou to adjust the parameters of the bever ages to the typical parameters of the country where the machine is used. This is why some languages are di erentiated also by coun tr y .
6 I A B B II C D 1 1 2 2 3 C A INSTALLATION WATER DISPENSING SPOUT INSTALLATION In order to carry on with correct machine start-up, it is necessary to install the water dispensing spout . The dispensing spout must always be inserted when operations requiring the dispensing of w ater have t o be per formed.
7 9 1 3 2 8 5 7 5 FIRST USE - USE AFTER A PERIOD OF INACTIVITY T o improve the pr oduc t quality , carr y out this procedur e at rst use of the machine and after long periods of inactivity. A few simple operations are needed t o ensure the quality of your favourit e beverages over time .
8 1 4 5 3 2 INTENZA WATER FILTER - (OPTIONAL) T o improve the quality of the wat er you use and extend the life of your machine at the same time , it is recommended that you install the water lter . After installation, go t o the water lter initialization progr amme (see the "MACHINE MENU" , page 25).

10 1 2 3 4 2 1 DISPENSING SPOUT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT Before brewing a pr oduc t, and acc ording to the kind of cup , adjust the height of the dispensing spout. T o adjust, manually move the dispensing spout as shown in the picture . Note: In some cases the dispensing spout can be removed to allow the use of very large containers.
11 A STAND-BY MODE The machine is designed for energy sa ving. After 30 minut es of inac tivity , the machine goes into stand-by mode, the boiler is no longer heated and all the devices turn o . Po wer consumption is reduced t o a minimum. Press any button to turn the machine on again.
12 1 6 I II 2 3 4 5 The machine is equipped with a carafe allowing for optimal milk fr othing for the brewing of tasty cappuccinos, latte mac chiatos and any milk-based bev erage. Note: Before using the carafe, make sure it is thoroughly clean and sanitary .

W e recommend NO T to keep the container at r oom temperatur e for too long. Maximum 10 minutes . Store the milk acc ording to producer's instructions and do NO T use it after best-before date .

15 1 3 5 2 BEVERAGE BREWING WITH PRE-GROUND COFFEE The machine allows y ou to use pre-ground and deca einated co ee. Pre-ground co ee must be poured into the b ypass doser positioned on the top of the machine.

Upon completion of the cleaning cycle remov e the milk carafe and put it in the refrigera tor . W ait a few seconds. The machine starts the automatic cleaning process (if enabled - see page 29).

23 COFFEE QU ANTIT Y PREBREWING COFFEE TEMPERA TURE COFFEE LENGTH In this case we look at ho w to programme a customiz ed cappuccino. The milk managing options are not sho wn when a co ee brewing (espresso or long co ee) is being programmed.
24 MILK QUANTITY W A TER QUANTITY This section allows you to pr ogram the quantity of milk for each selected beverage. The strip allows you t o determine exactly the quantity of milk to be dispensed. This section allows you to pr ogram the quantity of water to be dispensed when pr essing the hot water butt on.
25 The machine allows y ou to customize the opera tion settings. MACHINE MENU Press the MENU butt on to access the machine main menu. Select the menu by pressing the ( ) button.

27 DISPLA Y MENU LANGUA GE BRIGHTNESS ENGLISH This menu allows y ou to set the menu language and the display brightness. This setting is of fundamental importance for correctly adjusting the parameters of the machine accor ding to the country where the machine is used.
28 W A TER MENU HARDNESS ENABLE FIL TER ACTIV A TE FIL TER This menu allows setting corr ect water parameters for co ee brewing. T o change the machine water hardness setting . The "Hardness" function allows adjusting the machine to the lev el of hardness of the wa ter used.
29 MAINTENANCE COUNTERS DESCALING BREW GROUP CLEAN F ACT ORY SETTINGS CARAFE CLEANING CARAFE CLEAN OFF ON This menu allows setting all the functions for correct machine maintenanc e This function shows how many pr oduc ts hav e been brewed for every single type of co ee since the last reset.

36 1 6 2 3 4 5 MAINTENANCE DURING OPERATION During normal operation, the following messages may appear: " EMPTY COFFEE GROUNDS DRA WER" and/or " EMPTY DRIP TRA Y" . T his operation must be performed when the machine is on. Press the butt on and open the ser vice door .

Note: Pa y attention to how the components are assembled. This little shrewdness will facilitate the subsequent reassembling.
40 1 4 7 3 6 9 2 5 8 MILK CARAFE ASSEMBLY Pa y attention during the assembly phase. In case the componen ts do not smoothly enter in their positions, read the instructions more carefully and r epeat the assembly procedure . Insert the inner tting in the hose and press until fully inserting it.
