21 1 Getting Started Instal ling the SD Memory Card This ca mera uses an SD Memo ry Card. Captured im ages ar e recorded on the SD Memory Card if a card is inserted ( appears o n the LCD monitor) or in the bu ilt-in me mory if n o card is ins erted ( appe ars on the LCD mon itor).
22 Getting Started 1 Data Backup Very occasi onally, malfunc tion of the camera may cause data s tored in the built- in memory to become unreadable. As a backup measure, we rec ommend that you download i mportant data t o a PC o r store t he data i n a me dia other t han the built-in memory.

Higher quality l evels and n umbers o f recorded p ixels produ ce clear er images for printin g, but the resultin g increase i n data vo lume redu ces the total num ber of pic tures that can be ta ken.
