P owering the Camera Charging the Battery When using the camera for the first time or when the [Battery depleted.] message is display ed, charge the batter y . z Connect the A C plug cord to the battery charger . x Plug the A C plug cord into the power outlet.
Using the A C Adapter (optional) If you intend to use the LCD monitor f or a long time or connect the camera to a PC , use of the AC adapter D-A C2 (optional) is recom- mended. z Make sure that the camera is turned off before opening the terminal cover .

v Press the shutter release button. The image will be display ed on the LCD monitor for 0.5 seconds (Instant Revie w) and recorded on the CF card or in the built-in memory when no card is inser ted. (The green and red lamps on the right of the viewfinder blink alternately while the image is being recorded.
Pla ying Back Still Pictures Playing Bac k Images Y ou can display the still picture . z Press the Playbac k/OK button after taking a picture. The image taken will be dis- play ed on the LCD monitor . During this time you can erase the image by pressing the button (The Delete screen will be display ed.
24 Quick Start 25 Quick Start Quick Start Viewing images on a PC Y ou only need to install the USB driver the first time. After that, you can vie w recorded images and edit them on the PC just by connecting the camera to the PC with the USB cable and downloading the images.
Most of the settings are made automatically by the camera when a picture is taken. This mode is for taking dark scenes such as night views. Y ou can set the aper ture and shutter speed manually . This mode is for taking mo ving images. This mode is for taking 3D pictures.

How to recall the [Set-up] menu If the built-in memory space is insufficient, [Built-in Memor y Full. Cannot Copy] appears on the LCD monitor . F or mat the built-in memory , or erase unnecessary images. T rimming Images P ar t of the image can be trimmed and saved as another image .
111 Editing Images/Settings How to recall the [Set-up] menu Changing the Image Size (Resize) The recorded pixels and quality of the selected image can be altered to change the file to a smaller size. The image whose size is changed can be ov erwritten on the or iginal image, or sa ved as another image.
