FOR DOORS USING OPTIONAL SILL P AN GO T O STEP 1I . Exterior 1D 4th cut: Make a 6" cut up from each top corner at a 45 o angle to allow the water resistive barrier to be lapped over the fin at the head of the door . 1st cut 2nd cut 3rd cut Water Resistive Barrier 1C C.
Optional Sill P an Instructions: I. Cut the sill pan to the width of the rough opening plus 2”. N ote: e 2” added onto the rough opening width is for a 1” bend on each end. J. Make a 1” cut in each fold at both end of the sill pan. N ote: ese cuts will allow the edges of the sill pan to be bent.

TWO OR MORE PEOPLE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THE FOLL O WING STEPS: B. Cut and remo ve the strap that runs from the door lock to the sill of the door . C. Insert the door from the exterior of the building. DO NO T slide the bottom of the door into the opening.
F. F asten the door to opening by driving 2” galvanized roong nails into each pre-punched hole in the nailing n. N ote: Make sure the n corner is lying as at as possible. Exterior 3H 3F Interior 3K 3J G. Carefully open the door(s) and remo ve all shipping spacers.
K. Shim betw een the frame and the rough opening at the head strike location and at ev er y frame anchor hole location. Remov e and replace head strike screws with three #8 x 3” corrosion resistant screws (pro vided) through the head strike, door frame, shims and into the rough opening.
4 INTEGRA TING THE DOOR TO THE WA TER RESISTIVE BARRIER A. Apply side ashing tape. C ut two pieces of ashing tape 4" longer than the frame height of the door . Apply one piece 1/2" onto the frame cladding, over the nailing fin and onto the water resistive barrier on each side.

6 INTERIOR SEAL A. Apply insulating foam sealant. F rom the interior , inser t the nozzle of the applicator into the space between the door and the rough opening approximately 1” past the edge of the frame (and past the jamb extensions) and apply a 1" deep bead of foam.
7 SEALING THE DOOR TO THE EXTERIOR WALL CLADDING When applying siding, brick veneer or other exterior nish material, leave adequate space between the door frame and the material for sealant. Refer to the illustr ation that corresponds to your nish material.
INTERIOR FINISHING If products cannot be nished immediately , cover with clear plastic to protect from dirt, damage and moisture. Remo ve any construction residue before nishing. Sand all wood surfaces lightly with 180 grit or ner sandpaper .
