4 C2684M (2/08) W elcome The Endura ® EW5001 is a high performance, single radio wireless unit that can be configur ed as either an access poin t or a bridge. There a re various network and de vice settings that can be applied depe nding on the applicat ion.

8 C2684M (2/08) CHANGING THE T IMEOUT SETTING The EW5001 has a built-in , fail-safe t imeout setti ng. The defaul t timeout set ting is 10 min utes. When you make changes to other settings on the device and cl ick the T est Settin gs button, a c onfirmation message and a timer ap pear on the p age.
C2684M (2/08 ) 9 SAVING THE SETTINGS 1. After testing the chan ged settings, the Save Settings button ap pears in place of the T est Settings button. 2. If the settings are correct , click the Save Settings butt on to apply changes. 3. If the changes are not correct, click the Cancel button to revert to the last sav ed settings.
10 C2684M (2/08) Network Settings T ab Use the Networ k Settings tab to manage net work settings su ch as changing the unit mode a nd host name, tu rning on/off the Dynami c Host Configurat ion Protocol (DHCP), or setting a static IP address. Figure 5.
C2684M (2/08 ) 11 CHANGING THE HOST NAME The defaul t name for the device is EW50 00. T o c hange the hos t name, do the following: 1. Click the Host Name box and highlight th e text. 2. T ype a user- friendly name into the Host Name box (maximum 16 characte rs).
12 C2684M (2/08) Access Point or Wireless Bridge T ab Depending o n the selected u nit mode, the label on the second tab will either read Ac cess Point or Wireless Bridge. Use the Access Point tab or th e Wireless Bridge tab to change the serv ice set identifier (SS ID) , manage encryption sett ings, an d modify the channel.
C2684M (2/08 ) 13 CHANGING THE ENCRYPTION PASSPHRASE The encrypti on passphrase a llows devices to securely communicat e over the networ k by enab ling encryption. T o safeguard the netw ork against Pelco devices that are part of another network, change th e passphrase.
14 C2684M (2/08) CHANGING THE CHANNEL If your networ k is experien cing excessive interference, the channel should be chang e d. When changing the channel, remember that all wireless devices on the network must be set to the same channel. T o ch ange the channe l, do the fo llowing: 1.

The Wi reless Bridge tab ha s all of t he same settings that are available on the Access Point tab, as we ll as the brid ge connection sett ings and connection speed.

The available settings allow the bridge or backhaul to co nnect to anot her device aut omatically or manually by ent ering a valid me dia access cont rol (MAC) addres s.
