CM9740-CC1 | 7 3.0 BEFORE YOU BEGIN 3.1 A BRIEF NOTE The CM9740-CC1 is a none xpandab le CPU , optimiz ed for systems r anging from a 16 x 4 configur ation (16 inputs and 4 outputs) to a 256 x 32 configuration (256 in- puts and 32 outputs).
8 | C1508M-A (02/01) 4.0 INTRODUCTION TO THE CC1 4.1 DESCRIPTION The CM9740-CC1 Controller is the main component and central oper ating hub of the Sys- tem 9740. All components of the system connect to and communicate with the Controller via the por ts located on the rear of the unit.

In gener al, an y con- nectable de vice that can be used with the CM9760-CC1 can also be used with the CM9740-CC1. D-type , 9-pin connectors are used f or COM 1 and COM 2, while the VGA card connector is a 15-pin D-type connector.

16 | C1508M-A (02/01) 6.0 CC1 INITIALIZA TION The initialization process occurs during the time that the CM9740.EXE program is booting up. During this time configuration files and diagnostic programs are loaded enabling system par ameters for CCTV matr ix operation.
CM9740-CC1 | 17 6.1.3 MGR Pr ogram System Window That leaves the MGR system window , which is par t of the MGR prog r am proper . If you ha ve an external PC connected to the CC1 that contains the MGR program, there are m ultiple indications of online status associated with this program that can be checked.

Specifically , note the A OFF phr ase . This means “ Asynchronous OFF , ” which means the CC1 is not par t of a hot s witch configur ation.
20 | C1508M-A (02/01) 7.0 CC1 CONTROLLER OPERA TION The center of 9740 system operation is the CC1 controller. Monitor ing operations and perf or ming housek eeping chores are important par ts of main- taining the CC1 and system integ r ity .

Ref er to the sample diagnostic screen in Fig- ure 14. First, there is the GPI and Ax (short f or Aux) bo x located i n the lo wer left-hand portion of the screen.

CM9740-CC1 | 27 T o adjust the time: W e first synchronize the system cloc k (this is the clock kept b y the DOS oper ating system) to an RTC (a Ref erence Time Clock). W e then let the system r un f or 24 hours (or a m ultiple of 24 hours, if necessary).
28 | C1508M-A (02/01) For example, if system time in step 7 had read 2:02.30 (2 minutes and 30 seconds after 2 PM ) at the time R TC time read 2 PM, then we kno w that system time, over the ne xt 24 hours, must be slowed by 2 min utes and 30 seconds to synchronize system and R TC time .

The NIU , in turn, pro vides to the rest of the netw ork the parameters f or displaying sys- tem time . The time f or the system is updated each min ute b y the NIU, which, of course , is initially adjusted to R TC by the user.
