C2944M-G (6/09) 9 Installation LENS MOUNTING The C10DN Series ca mera supports both manu al and auto iris lenses, e ither fix ed focal len gth or vari focal. It als o supports bot h DC and video drive lenses. It automatically se nses an auto iris lens a s soon as you plug in the connector .

C2944M-G (6/09) 11 CONNECTING POWER The C10DN-6 and C1 0DN-6X are designed to ope rate from either a 12 VDC or a 24 VA C power source. The camera auto matically senses power type. Use only a Class 2 isolated powe r source th at can supply 12 VDC ±15% or 24 VAC ±15%, 50/60 Hz.
12 C2944M-G (6/09) CONNECTING AC POWER The C10DN Series camer a requires a power sup ply of 24 VAC ±15% 20.4–27.6 V AC, 50/60Hz. Make sure the power supply has a minimum rating of 270 mA.
C2944M-G (6/09) 13 CONNECTING DC POWER The C10DN Series camer a requires a power supp ly of 12 VDC ±15 % 10.2–13.8 VD C. Make sure the power sup ply has a mi nimum rating o f 390 mA. T o co nnect DC power refer t o Figure 5, and then complete th e followi ng steps: 1.

Use an externa l day/night f ilter switch, such as a ph otosensor , to keep the c amera from co nstantly switching filter s.

As a re sult, you h ave more o p tions for customizing the camera for its specific application. NOTE: After you cust omize any as pect of the C10DN Series camera , be sure to save your custom settings.

18 C2944M-G (6/09) PROFILES Use this opt ion to select a profile or save custom s ettings. U se profiles for faster installatio n or to adjust came ra settings q uickly for changing lig ht conditio ns. The defa ult sett ing is DA Y&NIGHT . The C10DN Series camera offers three predefin ed profiles and one custom, or user -defin able, profile.
C2944M-G (6/09) 19 EXPOSURE SETTINGS Select this option to config ure the exposure settings for th e C10DN Series camera. AUTO EXPOSURE The automat ic exposure feature au tomaticall y adjusts th e electronic shutter an d mechanical iris to set the correct exposu re.
20 C2944M-G (6/09) DC IRIS LEVEL Select this opt ion to adjust th e electron ic propertie s of the DC drive au to iris lens to th e auto iris ele ctronic prop erties of the camera . Perform this procedure be fore using th e camera or each time you cha nge the lens.
C2944M-G (6/09) 21 DETECT T IME The camera regular ly checks the bright ness level. When the br ig htness level crosses th e switch threshold a nd lasts long er than th e D&N DETECTION setting, th e ca mera switches the filter .
22 C2944M-G (6/09) WHITE BALANCE The C10DN Se ries camer a offers th ree white ba lance opt ions. White bal ance setting s define how the came ra proces ses video image s to rend er true colors in a scene. White ba lance is especially effective in scenes wi th changi ng color temperatures.
C2944M-G (6/09) 23 MASKING Masking lets you bl ock certain areas of a came ra scene. A maximum of eight masks can b e defined. NOTE: If you add a ninth mask , the camera erases the first mask. Y ou cannot config ure mor e than eight masks. MASK: Use this option to enable or disab le masking; the default setting is OFF .
24 C2944M-G (6/09) SAVE AS CUSTOM Select this o ption to cr eate and sa ve a custom profile. Wh enever you open and make changes to the EXPOSURE SET and FUNCTI ON SET menus, the camera stores the setti ngs. These sett ing can be saved as a custom profile.
C2944M-G (6/09) 25 Lens Focusing After mounting the lens, you must focus your C10D N Series camera. Y ou will ad just both the back focus (on th e camera) and the f ine focus (on the lens). NOTE: The back fo cus has alrea dy been adju sted using a standard CS- mount len s.
