Using t he Memory Card A memory ca rd i s a devi c e u se d to store f orm at s, check digit alg orithms, and MPCL pac kets. Y ou can copy inf ormation from a comp uter to a m e mory card.

Inser ting a Mem ory Card 1. Be s ure t he writ e-prote c t sw itch is in t he correc t posit ion. 2. Pos ition the card w i th t h e Mo narch® logo f acing up, and the arro ws pointing awa y f r om you. 3. Ins ert the ca rd into the memory ca rd slo t in the fr ont of the pr inte r , b elow the key p ad.
Co pying a Memo ry Card Y ou ca n cop y fo rmats from one m emory c a rd to another . T o copy a memory c ard, yo u need • the s ource card (the memory card with t he formats you want to copy ), and • the target card (a me mory ca rd yo u wa nt to co py t h e fo r mat s to) .

Battery The memory card uses a 3 -volt l ithium b attery , type BR2325 . Batt ery s h elf life is appro ximately fiv e y e ars, with an act i ve lif e of s ix mo nt hs. The battery cover i s locat ed on t he ed ge of the card. CAUTION If y ou r emove t he ba ttery cov er fr om a me mory car d the formats will be erased.
T o remo ve t he insulati ng tab f rom the ba tt ery , perf orm th e fol lowing pr ocedur e: 1. Hold the m em ory c a rd with the Monarc h logo facing up and t he arr ows po inting a way f rom yo u. 2. Pus h the bat tery l ock to the lef t (op posite t he direc tion of the arro w on t he bat tery cover) to unl oc k it.

Selec ting th e Data Entr y Mode The re are two ways to ent er data on t he 9401/9 402 w i th a sc anner . • In Auto Enter mo de, the printer reads a successf ul scan, then immediat ely g oes to the ne x t p rompt. • When not in Aut o Enter mo de, the op erator must pr ess t o pro ceed to the next promp t af t er scanning .
