8 Powe r S u p p l y ª Using an AC Adaptor 1 Connect t he DC Input L ead to th e [DC IN 4 .9V] socket o n the SD Mobile Printer . 2 Connect t he AC main Lead to the A C Adaptor and the AC Outlet. ≥ Hold down the Power Button [ ] for about 2 seconds, and t he printer is on.
9 Ejecting the Battery Slide and hold the Battery Eject Lever 2 toward the direction shown by the arrow 1 and slide the battery to eject 2 . ≥ When recharging, turn off the power of the printer . ≥ Remove the battery if t he printer is left unused for a long time.
10 Pap er/I nk Ca sset te The following Ink Cassette/Paper Sets ma y be used for this printer in addition to the paper/ink cassette supplied. ª Paper That Ca n Be Used For Printi ng The SD Mobile Printer can use the following t ypes of paper .
11 Inser t ing the Ink Cas sette 1 After removing the stopper 1 , turn the hole in the direction of the arrow to clear any slack in the Ink Film. 2 Open Ink Cassette Compar tment Door 2 . 3 Push it int o the direction shown by th e arrow until it c licks into pl ace.
12 Inser ting an SD Mem or y Car d / MultiMedia Car d 1 Slide the Mem ory Card Do or 1 , and flip it to open. 2 Hold the Memory Card placing the cut off corner 2 at the front with the label facing up, and then insert it fully into the Memory Card Sl ot horizon tally .
13 Using the Menu Sc ree n Use the Menu Mode as follows. 1 T urn the printe r on. ( l l l l 12) 2 Press the [MENU ] button. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 3 Press the [ DISPLA Y] button to select the item to be se t. ≥ With each press of the [DISPLA Y] button, the next item is highlighted.
14 Basic Functions Printing Ima ges 1 Insert a Memory Card, a nd T urn on the Printer . ( l l l l 12) ≥ The Index picture screen is displayed. 2 Press the [ 21 ] button t o select a desired image. ≥ Each time t he button is pres sed, the next image is framed by a blue li ne.
15 6 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to se lect [Number of copie s] and press the [ 21 ] button to set th e number of the print. 7 Press the [MENU] b utton. ≥ The preview image is displayed. 8 Insert a shee t of paper wi th the [PRINT SIDE ] upward into the [P APER IN 4 ] slot (Upper slot) 1 .
16 ≥ After the image is finished printing, a message will be displayed to feed in the next sheet of paper . ≥ Do not touch the paper during printing. ≥ Do not open the Ink Cassette Compartment Door during printing. ≥ When the printer stops during printing, refer t o “ Internal T emperature “ page 47.
17 4 Press the [MENU] b utton. 5 Press the [ 21 ] button to select a im age and press the [DISPLA Y] button. ≥ The selected image is marked with [ ¥ ] 1 on the bottom-right corner of it. 6 Repeat ste p 5 and se lect 8 im ages. ≥ After selecting 8 images, the preview image is displayed.
18 Printing Mu ltiple Scr een Shots of the S ame I mages This printer can divide the screen into 8, and print multiple screen shots of the same images. 1 Insert a Memory Card, a nd T urn on the Printer . ( l l l l 12) ≥ The Index picture screen is displayed.
19 Inser t ing a F r ame Illustr ation and Pri nting Y ou can insert illustrations s tored in this printer into the image and print it. 1 Proceed to steps 1 throug h to 4 on page 14. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 2 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select [Frame] an d press t he [ 21 ] button to select a de sired illu stration.
20 Date Printing Y ou can print images with the date of recording superimposed. 1 Proceed to ste ps 1 through to 4 o n page 14. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 2 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select [Date print] a nd press th e [ 2 1 ] butto n to set to [ON].
21 Tr i m m i n g This printer ca n trim the horizontal or vertical edges of an image and stretch it so that the image fills up t he entire print space. 1 Proceed to steps 1 throug h to 4 on page 14. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 2 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select [T rimming] and press th e [ 21 ] button to set to [ON].
22 Pri nti ng DPO F-s et Im ages Images marked with the DPOF option of a digital camera or SD video devices will be printed automatically . ( “ DPOF ” : Digi tal Print Order Format; a feature that allows the user to mark photos that they wish to print.
23 Adjusting P ictur e Quality 1 Select the im age you wish to adj ust and press the [ME NU] button. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 2 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select [Picture] an d press the [ 1 ] button. ≥ The adjusting screen is displayed.
24 Setting LCD Monitor 1 Select a n image and press the [MENU] button. ≥ The Menu screen is displayed. 2 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select [LCD] and press the [ 1 ] button. ≥ The adjusting screen is displayed. 3 Press the [DISPLA Y] button to select the item to be a djusted.
25 After Use 1 Hold down the Power Butt on [ ] for about 2 sec onds. ≥ T urn off the SD Mobile P rinter . 2 Open the Memor y Card Door 1 and push the edge of th e Memory Card 2 . ≥ Pull out the Mem ory Card. 3 Put the Printer into the Carrying Case .
26 Cut ting the L eft and Ri ght Sid es of the Paper After Prin ting 1 Fold in both d irections along the perforation lines. 2 T ear along the perforat ion lines. ≥ There are perforation lines on both ends of the paper . Be sure t o tear off both sides.
27 Connecting with your PC System Requir ements (For Printer Driv er and SD V iewer for Printer) Compatible machines: IBM ® PC/A T c ompatible personal com puter with: Microsoft ® Windows ® XP Home E dition /Professional, Windows ® Me, Windows ® 2000 Professional or Windows ® 98 Second Edition pre-installed.
28 Installing the Printer Driver Installing this printer driver allows the Pri nter to be used as a full-color printer . 1 T urn on the PC and insert the supplied CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. 2 T urn on the Printer . ( l l l l 12) 3 Connect t he Printer to the PC usin g auxiliary USB c able.

30 Installing the Printer Driver (Cont.) 1 T urn on the PC and insert the supplied CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. 2 T urn on the Printer . ( l l l l 12) 3 Connect t he Printer to the PC usin g auxiliary USB c able. ≥ The [Add (Found) New Hardwar e Wizard] screen appears.
31 7 Click the [Next] Button. ≥ Re-click the [Next] Button when the search confirmation screen appears. ≥ The message [File *****.DLL is not found] can be displayed depending on the environment of PC. Many PCs may install this file on the Hard Disk.
32 Installing the Printer Driver (Cont.) If the [Found New Hardware Wizard] screen does not appear , install with the following steps. 1 Before installa tion, check that all applicat ions have exited. 2 Connect t he printer to your PC with a USB cable and turn on the printer .
33 11 Select the folde r where the Printer Driver is locat ed. ≥ If the CD-ROM drive is assigned to the D drive, select [D:Win2K-X P] folder . 12 Click [OK].
34 Installing the Printer Driver (Cont.) If the [A dd New Hardw are Wizard] scr een does not appear , install with the following steps. 1 Before installa tion, check that all applicat ions have exited. 2 Connect t he printer to your PC with a USB cable and turn on the printer .
35 10 Check that [Panaso nic SV-P20] is displayed a nd click [Nex t]. 11 Select the USB port through which the Printer is co nnected and click [Next]. ≥ Select only the [ USB00X] port. ( e.g. USB001). 12 Click [Finish]. ≥ If a screen t o select the def ault printer is displayed, select [Y es] if it i s to be the default printer .
36 Installing the Printer Driver (Cont.) If the [Found N ew Hardware Wizard] screen does not appear , install with the f ollowing steps. 1 Before installa tion, check that all applicat ions have exited. 2 Connect t he printer to your PC with a USB cable and turn on the printer .
37 11 Select the folde r where the Printer Driver is locat ed. ≥ If the CD-ROM drive is assigned to the D drive, select [D:Win2K-X P] folder . 12 Click [OK].
38 Installing SD Vie wer for Printer 1 Insert the supplie d CD-ROM into the CD- ROM drive a nd double-click the [SD Viewer]. 2 Double-cl ick the [Setup .exe]. ≥ The install screen is displayed. 3 Click [ Next]. ≥ After reading the displayed contents, please carry out the installation according to instructions.
39 Printing a file from the PC Y ou can print an im age with the SD Viewer for Printer . For details, please refer to the PDF-based instructions for how to use the SD V iewer for Printer . 1 Click [Start] >> [Program (All Programs)] >> [Panasonic] >> [SD V iewer for Printe r] >> [SD Viewer for Printer].
40 Printing a file fr om the co mputer (Cont.) If you click [Properties] in Step 6 on the previous page, the Advanc ed setting screen will open to allow you to set the paper , number of multiples, etc. Click [OK] after setting, and the display wil l revert back to the [Properties] screen.
41 ª Uninstalling the Printer Drive r For Windo ws XP: T o uninstall the d river , log into the computer with a user name having administrator or equivalent privileges. 1 Select [Start] >> [Printers and Faxes]. [Printers and Faxes] may not be present on some personal computers.
42 T o delete the data o f the printing job, log into the computer with a user name having Administrator or equivalent privileges. [For Windo ws XP] ≥ Select [Start ] >> [Printers and F axes]. [Printers and Faxes] may not be present on some PCs.

44 Others Pr ecautions T o ensure high quality , precise printing, always observe the following points. Failure to observe these points will not only result in poor quality prints, but also paper jams, malfunctions and breakdowns of the SD Mobile Printer .
45 - If the card containing print images is inserted: T urns off about 10 minutes l ater . - If the card contains no print images: T urns off about 5 minutes l ater . ≥ Refer to page 48 when paper jam occurs. ≥ During printing, the paper moves forward and backward sev eral times.
46 Always Keep the T erminals of the Battery Clean. Prevent the terminals from getting clogged wit h dirt, dus t, or other substances. If you dro p the Battery accidentally , check to see if the Battery body and terminals are deformed. Attaching da maged Battery to the printer may damage the printer.
47 ≥ This printer complies wit h the Design rule for Camera File system (DCF) specified by the J apan Electronics and Information T echnology Industries Association (JEIT A ). ≥ If you select an image compliant with the DCF specification when t humbnails are displayed, the folder name and the file name for that image are displayed.
48 When the printer stops wh ile printing: If the printer s tops while printing, the following are probable causes: When [Printing in process. Wait w ithout remo vi ng pap er] is d ispla ye d and th e paper st ops in the Paper Inside Sl ot: The printer is being preheated when the ambient temperature is low .
49 ≥ Y ou can use a Head Cleaner about 150 time s. ≥ Put the Head Cleaner into its bag after using it. ª Notes on Hand ling the SD Mobile Printe r ≥ When spraying or using insecticides or other volatile solvents in t he vicinity of the printer , be careful not to allow any to come in to contac t with t he printer .
50 ª Maintena nce Notes ≥ Do not us e solvents such as Benzene and paint thinner t o wipe the print er since they can damage the surface of the printer and c ause the surface t o peel. T o clean t he surface, wipe up any dust with a soft, dry cloth.
51 Messages on the L CD Mo nit or M essage Remed y This picture is unr eadable. • Either the imag e format is incomp atible or the da ta has been des troyed. There is no SD/MMC card inserted. • Insert the SD Memor y Card or MultiMediaCard. Card can ’ t be used.
52 Before Requesting Ser vice If the trouble persists even when the action suggested below has been taken, press the Power Button to turn off t he power and disconnect and re-connect the Power Cable. 1: The power cannot be switched on. 1: The power plug is not plugged in correctly .
