19 Adjus ting Brig htness an d Colo r Le v el on the LCD Monitor LCD Brightness [BRI GHTNESS] It adjusts the brightness of the image on the LCD screen. LCD Color Level [COLOR] It adjusts the color saturation of the image on the LCD screen. 1 Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC] and set the ope ration mode to [PICTURE] or [MPEG4].

28 Advanced Functions Back ligh t Compensa tion Functio n This prevents a recording subject from being recorded too dark in backlight. (Backlight is the light that shines from behind a re cording subject.) 1 Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC] and set the o peration mode to [PICTURE] or [MPEG4].

33 REC OFF PLA Y MENU F or mattin g the Memor y Car d If a Memory Card becomes unreadable by the SD Multi A V Device, formatting it may make it reusable. Formatting erases all the dat a recorded on the Memory Card . 1 Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC].
34 Using the A V Cradle Fitting on the A V Cr adle eases charging. The A V Cradle all ows the Device to be connected to the external device , such as a TV in order for the pictures on this De vice to be viewed on the TV . The A V Cradle also allows the pictures on a n e xter nal de vice to b e recorded on a Card using t he timer function.

52 Notes & Precautions ª Cautions for Use When you use your SD Multi A V Device on a rainy or snowy day or on a beach, make sure th at no w ater or moisture enters the S D Multi A V Device. ≥ W ater may cause the SD Multi A V Device or Memory C ard to malfunction.
53 Af ter use, be sure to t ake the Memory Card out and detach the Battery from the SD Multi A V Device or pull out the AC Main Lead from AC Main socket. If the Battery is used in an extremely cold environment, the Battery may only operate for app rox.
54 Be Sure to Det ach the B attery af ter Use Be sure t o det ach the Ba t tery from the SD Multi A V Device. (If it is lef t attached to the SD Multi A V Device, a minute amount of current is consumed even when the SD Multi A V Device power is off.
55 ª St ate of Po w er La mp whil e charging The Power Lamp flashes while charging. (Flashes approx. every 2 seconds when charging is normal.) When the Power Lamps flashes more quickly or slowly (or turns off), some abnormality may hav e occurred. The flashing speed s uggest s the following states.
56 ≥ Electrical noise, static electricity or f ailure of the SD Multi A V Device or the Memory Card may dam age the Memory Card or erase the data stored on the Memory Card. It is recommended to save important data onto a personal computer . ≥ Some cards may pop out when they are removed.
57 ≥ Irrespective of the setting, the horizontal stripes may appear in the following cases. - When using the SD M ulti A V Dev i ce to record pictures under a lighting instrument suc h as a high-fre.
58 ≥ The MPEG4 moving pictures can be recorded in an y mode, but moving pictures recorded in t he [SUPER FINE], [FINE] or [NORMAL] mode may not be played on other Panasonic digit al video cameras. The m essage [PUSH THE RESET SWITCH] may be displayed on some Pa nasonic digit al video cam eras in such a case.
