Befo re Use 10 ª To Use as a Hand Str ap Using the Grip Belt as the hand st rap makes it easier to handle and carry a Movie Camera. It is more convenient t o use with the Free Style Remote Controller with Mic. 1 Detach the Grip Belt wh ile pressing the Grip Belt Release Bu tton (32) .

Outside of the effective range of Automatic White Balance Adjustment, the image will become reddish or bluish.

Recording Mode 32 2 Press the [ ; / ∫ ] Button t o select the [MNL (AGC*, NO-AGC)]. ≥ AGC*: Auto Gain Control ≥ When you set [MODE] to any other setting than [AUTO], the Microphone Sensitivity Level appears. AUTO: AGC is activated, and the recording level is adjusted automatically.

Recording Mode 35 ª Wipe Mode and M ix Mode Wipe Mode : Like drawing a curtain, the still picture of the last recorded scene gradually changes to the moving image of a new scene. Mix Mode: While the moving image of a new scene fades in, the still image of the last recorded scene gradually fades out.
Playback Mode 36 Playback Mode Playin g Back a Tap e The recorded scene can be played back immediately after th e recording. 1 Set the [OFF/O N] Switch (48) to [ON]. ≥ The Power Lamp (46) lights up. 2 Set the Mode Di al (44) to Tape Playback Mode . 3 Press the [ 6 ] Button (21) to rewind the tape.
Playback Mode 37 ª Variabl e Speed Search Function The speed of Cue Playback or Review Playback can be varied. 1 During playback, press the [ 1 ] Bu tton (19) . ≥ The [1 k! ] Indication appears. 2 Push the [ s VOL/JOG r ] Lever (51) to sel ect a desired search s peed.
Playback Mode 38 ≥ If the Movie Camera is left in the S till Playback Mode for more than 6 minutes, t he Movie Camera switches to the Stop Mode to protect the video head s from excessiv e wear and tear.
Playback Mode 39 Playba ck Digit al Effect Functions During playback, special digital effects can be added to the recorded pictures. The sam e effects as those of Digital Effects 1 and 2, which are used during recording, are obtained. 1 Press the [ 1 ] Button (84) .

Others 62 Keep the M ovie Camera away from magnetized eq uipment (su ch as a micro wave oven, T V , vi deo gam e equipm ent, e tc.). ≥ If you use the Movie Camera on or near a TV, images or s ounds may be disturbed due to electromagnetic wave rad iation.
Others 63 Blin k in yello w: Dews are slight ly adhering on the head o r the tape. Blin k in red: Dews are adhering on the head or the tape. 1 Remove the tape if it is inserted. ≥ It takes about 20 seconds to open t he Cassette Holder. This is not a malf unction.

Wipe it with soft dry cloth. ≥ If your M ovie Camera is extremely cold w hen you turn its power on, the image on t he LCD Monitor is slightly darker than us ual at first.
Others 66 • Are you using the Battery in an ext remely cold place? In cold p laces, the operating time of the Battery becomes short er. ( -64- ) • Has the Battery worn o ut? If the oper ating time is still too short even after the Battery is fully charged, the Battery has worn out.
Others 67 4: Sounds cannot be played back. • Although a Cas sette with no audio dubbing is being played, is [12bit AUDIO] on the [PLAYBACK] S ub-Menu of t he [TAPE PLAY B ACK MENU] set to [S T2]? To play back a Cassette with no audio dubbing, [12bit AUDIO] must be set to [ST1].
