Prepar ation 5 Important information General L Use only the AC adaptor supplied with thi s product, noted on page 4. L Do not connect the AC adaptor to any AC outlet other than a standard 220–240 V AC out let. L This product is unable to make calls when: – the portable handset battery(ies) need recharging or have failed.

Prepar ation 7 Displays Display icons (located at the to p of the display) Note: L The current handset num ber is displayed next to the handset name on the display in st andby mode. Preparat ion 8 Connections Note: L Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm. L The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feel warm during use.) L The AC adap tor should be connect ed to a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet.

L Do NOT use Alkaline/Manganese/Ni-Cd batteries. L Ensure correct polarities ( S , T ) when installing the batteries.

Useful Information 23 T rou bleshooting If you still have difficulties after following the inst ructions in this sec tion, disconnect the base unit AC adaptor and remove the handset batteries. Then reconnect the base unit AC adaptor and inst all the batteries.
