Record mode 18 ª Recording m ode You can switch the tape recording mode. ≥ Set to Tape Recording/Playback Mode. 1 Set [BASIC] or [ ADVANCE] >> [REC SPEED] >> [SP] or [LP]. If the LP mode is selected, the recording time will be 1.5 times the SP mode, but some functions will be di sabled.
Record mode 19 Zoom in/out function You can zoom in up to 1 0 k optically. ≥ Set to Tape Recording Mode. 1 Wide-a ngle re cordin g (zoom out): Push the [W/T] lever (or sub zoom lever) towards [W]. Close- up recording (zoom i n): Push the [W/T] lever (or sub zoom lever) towards [T].
Record mode 20 Recording yourself You can rec ord yourself while v iewing the LCD m onitor. You can record per sons in front of the camera while presenting them the image. The image is horizontally flipped as if y ou see a mirror image. (The image to be recorded is the same as that recording.
Record mode 21 Soft skin mode This allows the skin color to be r e corded in a softer tone. This is more effective if you record the bust image of a person. ≥ Set to Tape Recording Mode. 1 Press the [ENTER] button until the icon 1 appears. 2 Press the [ 4 ] button to select t he soft skin icon [ ].
Record mode 22 Recording images for wide-screen TVs This allows you t o record images compatible with wide-screen TVs. Cinema Functi on Images are recorded with a black belt appearing al ong the top and bottom of the screen so that they l ook like theater movies.
Record mode 23 Recording in natura l colors (White balanc e) The automatic white balance function may not reproduce natural colors depending on the scenes or l ighting conditions. If so, you can adjus t the white balance manually. ≥ Set to Tape Recording Mode.
Record mode 24 Manual f ocus adju stment If auto focusing is difficult due to the conditi ons, then manual focusing is available. ≥ Set to Tape Recording Mode. 1 Set the [AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS] switch to [MANUAL]. 2 Set the [AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS] s witch to [FOCUS].

Menu 31 Menus related to taking pictures ª [DATE/TIME] This switches between date and time indicati ons. ≥ The camera -recorder automatically records the date and time of picture taking on the tape. ≥ You can also show or change the date/ time indication by repeatedly press ing the [DATE /TIME] button on the remote control.

Others 35 Others 1: The indication disappears, the screen is frozen, or no operation can be performed. • Turn off the power to t he camera-record er. If the power cannot be turned of f, press t he [ RESET] but ton, or detach the battery or AC adapter and then reattach it.
Others 36 When normal playback cannot be p erformed even after the head cleaning One possible cause is that normal reco rding could not be performed because the heads were dirty at the time of recording. Clean the heads, and perform recording and playback again.
