3 This indicator lights green when Caps Loc k is pressed. Subsequent non- shifted input is capitalized. These indicators light green when NumLk is pressed and then K e y Pad is pressed while holding down the Fn k ey . This causes a por tion of the k e y- board to function as a numeric keypad.

7 CA UTION Suspend/Hibernation Functions Resuming Operation I f the secur ity indicator ( ) is displa yed, your pass w ord has been set. After the display returns, the computer needs a shor t period of time to reinitialize. This takes about 15 seconds.
8 Suspend/Hibernation Functions Sa ve all data before powe ring off y our computer . When restar ting from or shutting down to the suspend or hibernation mode, do not touch the touch pad (or mo ve the mouse (serial or PS/2 type) if one is connected).

Inser t the connector-side of the battery pack into the computer to secure the connector .
21 CA UTION CA UTION Using a Multimedia P oc ket Device Y ou ma y use an optional CD-ROM pack (CF-VCD711) or Superdisk dr i ve pac k (CF- VFS711) by remo ving your flopp y disk dr i ve from the m ultimedia poc ket. For more inf ormation, please read the manual that accompanies the CD-ROM pac k or Superdisk driv e pac k .
22 CA UTION Using the Flopp y Disk Drive as an External Drive Do not mo v e the dr ive while accessing data on the flopp y disk. Firmly hold both sides of the dr iv e when removing a disk.
23 CA UTION CA UTION Using PC Car ds Installing a PC Card Simply slide the PC Card in until it snaps into place . Please ref er to the man ual f or each card on how to install the card (insertion is typically label- side up). Label-side up Y our computer has tw o PC Card slots.
