35 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k B a s i c P r o c e d u r e s This section describes the basic procedur e for shooting and recor ding. Before you embark on a shoot, pr e-inspect your system to ensure that it works pr operly . For directions on inspecting your memory card camera- recor der , see [Inspections Before Shooting] (page 157).
36 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k Setting the switc hes before shooting and recording When a battery and P2 cards are installed, set the switches as detailed below , before starting to use your AG- HPX370P/AG-HPX371E. e a b c d b f a Iris The iris is automatically adjusted when the lens is set to the auto iris mode.
37 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k 3 P oint the camera at y our subject to adjust the f ocus, and zoom. 4 T o use the electronic shutter , set the shutter speed and shutter mode. For more information, see [Setting the Electronic Shutter] (page 58). 5 Press the REC button to start recording.

39 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k V a r i a b l e F r a m e R a t e ( V F R ) R e c o r d i n g In 720P mode, this camera is capable of frame skipping (undercranking) and high-speed (over cranking) recording. The camera operator can select between native (PN) recor ding mode and standard (OVER) recor ding.

41 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k Undercranking eff ects This effect pr oduces the quick motion often used for showing clouds drifting across the sky , crowds of people swarming past a solitary standing individual, a kung fu demonstration and other per formances.
42 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k During P2 card r ecording, the following special recor ding modes can be enabled from the RECORDING SETUP screen: pr e-recording, interval r ecording, one-shot recor ding, loop recording, and one-clip r ecording.

45 Chapter 3 Recording and Playbac k • The clip does not stop combining e ven when the STOP button is pressed in the Menu or on the thumbnail displa y . • Pressing the ST OP or REC button on a remote control unit (AJ-RC10G) or extension contr ol unit (AG-EC4G) does not stop the clip compiling pr ocess.

And by removing any car d other than that being recorded, you can make continuous recor ding on 2 or more cards (hot swap recor ding).
