1 1 General Information W arnings It is very important that you read the User Guide carefully as it contains detailed inf or mation on installation, programming and operational issues which you will need to be a ware of to ensure the Care Phone oper ates properly .

3 Notes f or operation in New Zealand The grant of a T elepermit for an y item of ter minal equipment indicates only that T elecom has accepted that the item complies with the minimum conditions f or connection to its network. It indicates no endorsement of the product by T elecom, nor does it provide an y sor t of warranty .

5 3 Installation 3.1 Installing batteries (supplied) in the phone W arnings Y ou must install 4 AA Alkaline batteries in the phone base. The battery back up system will then be ab le to power the unit f or up to 12 hours if there is a mains power failure.
6 3.4 W all Mounting Method A. T o fit to an existing telephone w all plate with modular connector simply , 1. Press and lift out the handset holder on base . Rotate it 180°, and snap it into place (see A) so it will hold the handset in place when the phone is mounted on the wall.
7 4 Setting Up 4.1 Setting the contrast 1. Press the MENU b utton. The displa y shows “ LCD CONTRAST ” . 2. Press the CALL BA CK button. The displa y shows the current contr ast setting with v alues between 1 and 5. 3. Press or to select the contrast le vel and confir m with CALL B A CK button.
8 4.4 V oice Prompts V oice prompts are provided to make it easy to use the TP150. The volume of the voice prompt can be adjusted with the V OLUME slide s witch on the side of the phone. If you pref er y ou ma y tur n off the voice prompt function. NO TE: Y ou will still hear all the phone book names you recorded.
9 5. T elephone Operation 5.1 Making a call 1. Pic k up the handset or press SPEAKER button (the speak er LED will light) and wait f or a dial tone . 2. Dial the n umber you wish to call. The displa y will sho w the number that you are dialling. If y ou dial a number ov er 14 digits long, it will show the last 14 digits only .
10 5.3 Speaker V olume Control Y ou can adjust the speaker v olume le vel that suits y ou b y sliding the V OLUME s witch. 5.4 Last number Redial T o redial the last number called: 1. Lift the handset or press SPEAKER button. 2. Press the REDIAL button.

12 6. Select EMERGENCY ON or EMERGENCY OFF using the or and confirm with CALL BA CK button. • If you selected EMERGENCY OFF and press CALL B A CK , SA VED is shown and the unit announces “Name Recording”.
13 Ho w to enter names By repeatedly pressing the appropriate button, upper case letters as well as numbers and special char acters can be entered. 14 6.3 T o dial a number from the Phone Book: 1. With the required telephone number showing on the displa y , press CALL BAC K button. The telephone dials out the displa yed telephone n umber automatically in speakerphone mode. 2. The displa y shows the telephone number and call timer .
15 6.5 T o Edit Phone Book Memories 1. Press and release CID button until phone book symbol is shown. 2. Select the required location by pressing or . 3. Press and hold MENU button f or two seconds. The display will show EDIT? . 4. Press CALL BA CK button, the first digit of the selected phone number will flash.
16 7 Emergency Call f eature THE EMERGENCY CALL FUNCTION WILL NO T OPERA TE UNLESS ALL THE PROCEDURES IN THE USER GUIDE HA VE BEEN COMPLIED WITH. This f eature allows y ou to summon assistance from the people in emergency phone list. 7.1 Emergency Message T wo options are pro vided f or your emergency message: A.
17 7.5 T o activate the Emergency Call function: 1 . Press and hold the b utton on the pendant or the SOS emergency button on the telephone f or three seconds.
18 8. Caller ID Important: T o use Caller ID functions the CLIP symbol m ust be on. If the CLIP symbol is not visible on the displa y , press the CID button once. 8.1 Receiving a Call (Can be stored up to 64 calls) • If an incorrect, inv alid or incomplete Caller ID signal is receiv ed, the displa y shows -ERROR- .
19 8.2 View the Caller ID Memory Press to revie w more recent calls. The CALL# will increase. After you vie w the most recent data in memory , the displa y will show END OF LIST . Press to revie w older calls. The CALL# will decrease . After you vie w the oldest data in memory , the displa y will show END OF LIST .
20 9 Impor tant Inf ormation 9.1 P eriodic testing Remote P endant W e recommend you chec k and test the remote pendant and SOS b utton function e v er y month.
21 9.2 Battery Backup on the phone base The TP150 requires that 4 AA Alkaline batteries be fitted in the phone and the pow er adaptor be connected to mains power soc k et and be tur ned on at all times. The Battery war ning symbol on the phone display will indicate when the 4 AA batteries in the phone base need replacing.
22 9.4 Cleaning and care The surface of the case can be cleaned with a dry , soft, lint-free cloth. Ne v er use cleaning agents, particular ly agg ressive solv ents. Apar t from occasional cleaning of the case, no other care is necessary . The rubber f eet of the base station are not resistant to all cleaning agents.
