If you have other OPPO products placed close to the BDP-105, they may inadvertently resp ond to the BDP-105 remote control. To prevent this, you can select a different remote code.

Currently, it supports Netflix and VUDU, as well as in-home network media sharing via My Network which is capable of connecting with DLNA and SMB/CIFS clients.

BASIC OPER ATIONS 30 On-Screen Display 1. During the playback of a DVD or Blu-ray Disc, press the INFO button on the remote control to show its status information.
BASIC OPERATIONS 31 VOL - VOL + x Press the VO L – button to decrease the volume. x Press the VO L + button to increase the volume. NOTE The volume level for the analog output and the headphone output ar e adjusted and saved separately.
BASIC OPER ATIONS 32 Subtitle Selection SUBTITLE 1. When playing a DVD, Blu-ray Disc or other video programs recorded with subtitles, pr ess the SUBTITLE button on the remote control to select the desir ed subtitle. 2. Repeatedly press the SUBTITLE button or use the UP/DO WN ARROW buttons to choose from all av ailable subtitles.
BASIC OPERATIONS 33 Audio Return Channel (ARC) Selection 1. When sending a digital audio signal from the TV back to the BDP-105 through an HDMI connection, press the INPUT button on the remote to bring the Input Source menu. 2. Use the UP/DOWN ARROW buttons to ch oose the required ARC c hannel.
34 ADVANCED OPERATIONS Output Resolution RESOLUTION The BDP-105 supports multiple outpu t resolutions. For a detailed discussion on how to choose the best ou tput resolution, please refer to the Select the Best Output Resolution section on page 25 of this manua l.

ADVANCED OPERATIONS 37 Subtitle Shift SUBTITLE For customers using a 2.35:1 “Con stant Image Height” video projection system, subtitles may get cut off because they are positioned outside of the active video area. The Subtitle Shift feature can be used to shift subtitles up or down so they are displaye d within the active video area.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS 38 Repeat a Selected Section AB REPLA Y To repeatedly play a specific section, please follow these steps: 1. During normal playback, pres s the AB REPLAY button on the remote at the d esired beginning point (Point A) for the repeat play.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS 39 Playback from a Specific Location DVD and Blu-ray Discs During the playback of a DVD or Blu-ray Disc, y ou may specify a location to start playback by entering the t itle, chapter or time directly. Press the GOTO button to bring up the on-screen display.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS 40 NOTE x Some discs may prohibit the search operation. You will not be able to select a search location, or you may get an “invalid operation” ic on after specifying a search location. x Some Blu-ray Discs feature their ow n search fun ction.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS 41 Memory and Automatic Resume POWER OPEN Y A L P P O T S 1. The player automatically saves the current position when playback is interrup ted. Operations such as STOP, OPEN ,a n d POWER cause the player to save the current playing position.
ADVANCED OPERATIONS 42 NOTE x Pure Audio mode is auto matically canceled when the unit is switched off or when playback is stopped. x Because HDMI carries audio together with video, the HDMI video signa l cann ot be completely turned off. A black screen is transmitte d instead to minimize any potential interference.
43 MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK In addition to playing standard disc-based forma ts such as Blu-ray, DVD, CD and SACD, the BDP-105 can play media files. You can enjoy digital music, movies and photos stored on a data disc (recordable CD, DVD or Blu-ray) or an external USB drive.
MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 44 In-home Network Media Sharing The BDP-105 can remotely play back music, photo, and video fi les stored on media devices that are connected to the same home network.
MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 45 Internet Streaming on HOME Menu The BDP-105 presents a Home Menu to assi st you in navigating and playing media files from an inserted optical disc, USB flash drive, external hard drive, home network sha ring and internet streaming.
MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 46 Fresh and Picasa, either press HOME button or repea tedly press RETUR N button until the Home Menu appears. To exit Pandora, either press HOME button or select Exit Pandora in Pandora’s Menu selection. Please contact O PPO customer support if you need assistance.
MEDIA FILE PLAYBACK 47 x Shows playback status: Play, Pau se, Track and Time. x Display and chang e playback mod e: Shuffle/Random, Repeat One/All. x Music information: Displays information like album art an d tags, either embedded in the original file or found online from the Gracenote database.

50 SETUP MENU OPTIONS The Setup Menu of the BPD-105 presents man y setup and configuration options. For most user s, the default configuration will be suffic ient an d you will not require any changes to the settings.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 51 NOTE It is possible that some setup items may be grayed-out and inaccessible. This can be caused by a disc being played b ack or having changed a prerequisite setup ite m. Please stop playback or eject the disc before trying to change these setup items.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 52 4. To select a value from the list of available settings, press the UP/DOWN ARROW buttons and then press the ENTER button to confirm. For example, to select Off for Auto Play Mode , use the UP/DOWN ARROW buttons to highlight the Off selection and press the ENTER button.

SETUP MENU OPT IONS 54 x DVD Ratings – Press the UP/DOW N ARROW buttons to select the rating to allow for DVDs. The available ratings ar e Kid, G, PG, PG-13, PGR, R, NC-17, Adult and Off. The selected rating and below will be allowed, and any rating above w ill be blocked.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 55 Video Setup The Video Setup section of the Setup Menu allows you to configure video output opt ions. 1. Picture Adjust ment : Adjusts picture contr ol settings. The BDP-105 provides a wide array of picture controls. Please re fer to the Picture Adjustm ent section on page 58 for details about each control.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 56 4. 3D Setting : Adjusts the pla yback settings for better 3D visu al quality. x 2D->3D Depth – Adjusts the 3D depth perception when performing 2D-to-3D conversion (also called “simulated 3D”). The defaul t value is 8. x 3D TV Size – Allo ws you to enter the diagonal screen size of the 3D HDTV.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 57 achieved by enab ling 1080p24 Output for thes e discs. This option only applie s to the HDMI output at 1080p resolution. The available option s are: x Auto (default) – Video encoded at a 24Hz frame rate will be output as 1080p 24Hz if the TV informs the playe r that it can suppor t the 1080p24 signal.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 58 x Angle Mark (On/Off) – Turns on/off the display of th e angle icon when a DVD or Blu-ray Disc with multiple angles is played . Keeping the angle mark off avoids distr action from normal movie watchi ng. x Screen Saver – Allows you to tu rn on/off the screen saver function.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 59 Picture Adjustment Menu for HDMI 2 OU T To change a picture adjustment par ameter, use the UP/DOWN ARROW buttons to highlight the parameter, and use the LEFT/RIGHT ARROW buttons to change its value.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 60 in shadows when watching darker scenes. Televisions have brightness (black level) and contrast (white level) controls; however, it may require a combination of tweaking both the player and your television to get the optimal result.

The in creased bit depth should result in smoother color transitions and better g radients. 36 Bits – Uses the 36-bit per pixel Deep Color mode. 30 Bits (Dithered) – Us es the 30-bit per pixel Dee p Color m ode w ith dithering technique.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 63 Audio Format Setup The Audio Format Setup s ection of the Se tup Men u allows you to configure preferences for audio output formats. 1. Secondary Audio: Allows you to set the Secondary Audio Program mixing option. So me Blu-ray Discs contain a secondary audio and video pr ogram, such as a director’s commentary.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 64 with high sample rate (up to 192kHz ), or 8 channel s of audio with s tandard sample rate (up to 48kHz). If yo u play high resolution audio co ntent at the 480p/576p resolution, you may g et reduced audio r esolution, incomplete audio channels, or even n o audio/video output at all.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 65 x Off (default) – HDCD is trea ted as regular CD. This is useful when the player is conne cted to an HDCD-capable A/V receiver via a digital audi o output link (Coaxial, Optical, or HDMI) so the A/V receiver can perform HDCD decoding.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 66 Audio Signal Reference Chart Blu-ray Discs may contain many types of audio signal form ats, some of which are high resolution types such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Blu-ray Discs also have many optional audio components such as the Secondary Audio Program and menu clicking sound.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 67 Recommended Audio Format Options Depending on your specific audio/video connectio n method, the audio format options of the BDP-105 may need to be adjusted to match your co nfiguration. Refer to the video and audio connection methods described previously in t his guide and the following audio setup gu idelines.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 68 Multi-Channel Analog Audio to Receiver If the player is connected to an A/V re ceiver through the 7.1ch or 5.1ch analog audio jacks using 8 or 6 RCA cables (as described on page 18), you can pla y all supported audio formats and listen to them with your A/V receiver and s urround sound systems.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 69 Audio Processing Setup The Audio Processing section of t he Setup Menu allows you to configure how the player will process audio signals before sendi ng them to the outp ut.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 70 Down Mix Mode Downmixing is the process o f converting multi-channe l audio to a lesser number of channels. For example, converting a 5.1ch source to stereo or c onve rting a 7.1ch source to 5.1ch. Downmixing allows the audio output fr om the player to match the exact number o f speakers available in your home theater.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 71 Speaker Settings You can set the size, distance and trim le vel for each speaker by u sing the LEFT/RIGHT ARROW buttons to move the cursor to highlight the speaker and then press the ENTER button. The Speaker Settings menu on the righ t side of the screen will be activated.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 72 Speaker distance compensation is not re quired if the A/V receiver has the capability to adjust channel delay and compensa te for speaker distance differences.

SETUP MENU OPT IONS 76 4. Remote Control Code: The BDP-105 can respond to one of four sets of r emote control codes. The default is “Code 1”. If you have other OPPO prod ucts i n the vicinity of the BDP-105, the other products may respond to the BDP-105 remote c ontro l.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 77 6. Standby Mode : Allows you to choose between two stand by modes. In Energy Efficient mode, the player consumes a minimal amount of pow er bu t takes more time to get ready f or op eration after being turned on.
SETUP MENU OPT IONS 78 x De-activate Netflix – De-activates the Netflix account on your player. Once de-a ctivated, you have to go to the HOME menu, select Netflix a nd go through the activation procedure again to be ab le to access Netflix again on your player.
SETUP ME NU OPTIONS 79 Network Setup The Network Setup section of the Setup Menu system allow s you to configure the player’s n etwork connection, test the connection, and enable or disable BD-Live access.
