10 EN Preparing the Camer a Insert the battery while sliding the battery lock knob in the direction of the arrow . Slide the battery lock knob in the direction of the arrow to unlock, and then remove the battery . T urn off the camera before opening the battery/card compartment cover .
11 EN Charging the camera battery The camera battery can be charged while the camera is connected to a computer . The indicator lamp lights during charging and turns off when charging is complete.
12 EN Charging the batter y with the supplied USB-AC adapter The included F-2AC USB-AC adapter (with an AC cable or plug-in type; hereafter referred to as AC adapter) differs depending on the region where you purchased the camera. If you received a plug-in type AC adapter , plug it directly into an AC outlet.

45 EN Color hue “T aking pictures with colors at the same shade as they appear” T aking pictures by selecting white balance (p. 25) Best results in most environments can normally be obtained with the [WB AUTO] setting, but for some subjects, you should try experimenting with different settings.
46 EN Appendix Batter y and AC adapter (included) This camera uses one Olympus lithium ion battery (LI-42B/LI-40B). No other type of batteries can be used. Caution: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with the incorrect battery type.
47 EN Using a separately sold AC adapter A D-7AC AC adapter (sold separately) is useful for time-consuming tasks such as downloading images to a computer or when running a slideshow for a long period of time. A CB-MA1/ CB-MA3 multi-adapter (sold separately) is required when using a D-7AC AC adapter with this camera.

51 EN Handle the camera with care to avoid getting a low-temperature burn. When the camera contains metal parts, overheating can result in a low-temperature burn. Pay attention to the following: When used for a long period, the camera will get hot. If you hold on to the camera in this state, a low-temperature burn may be caused.
