12 1998 Nokia Mobile Phones. All Rights Reserved. 2. Gett ing Sta rted Before you can use you r phone, you must insta ll a valid miniatu re SIM card in the phone and charge the phone batt ery. Installing the SIM Card • Before installing the SIM card, switch off the phone and remove the battery.

Charging a Battery Once you have inserted the SIM card and placed the battery, charge the battery. • Use only batteries and chargers approved by the ph one manufacturer. Charging a Battery Using the Fast & Light Charger ACH-6 1 Connect the lead from the charger to the bottom of the ph one.

Or: If you h ave stored the phone nu mber and name in Phone Book: • Press once. • Key in the first l etter of the name to be recalled and then press or until the name appears.

PIN Code Request (Menu 4 1 ) This menu function allows you to s et the phone to ask for your PIN code (provided by your ser vice provider) every time the phone is switch ed on.
