1 THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AN ASTROSTART REMOTE CAR STARTER! Like you, Astroflex is concerned with the environment. This is why we suggest using the two-minute runtime when you remote start your vehicle to warm up engine fluids.
2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Before using this product, carefully read the following safet y precautions. GENERAL RULES • Never perform a remote start when a person or animal is inside the vehicle. • Do not allow any person or animal to remain inside the vehi cle when the engine is runni ng under remote starter control (continuous mode).
3 SAFETY SEQUENCE FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES Your remote starter was designed to force y ou to perform a series of actions that will ensure that the gearshift lever is in neutral position when you exit the vehicle.
4 THE REMOTE CONTROLS Each remote control can control two distinct remote start ers. A maximum of four remote controls can be assigned to your vehicle.

8 START COMMANDS STARTING THE ENGINE To start engine, press button. The system automatically adjusts ignition durat ion for your type of vehicle; parking light s flash once (duration: four seconds) then stay on all the time when the engine is running.
9 T RIGGER INPUT Your remote starter is equipped with a negative trigger (pulse) input. This input can be connected to another remote control device or to an AstroSt art RST-2 timer output (optional), par t number 310-903-502.
10 LOW TEMPERATURE MODE In Low Temperature (Sentinel) mode, system start s your engi ne automatically when the t emperature falls below a preset level. Engine will run for programmed runtime, after which the system will wait 2½ hours and then start the engine again if temperature is still below preset level.
11 SECURITY SYSTEM The bi-directional remote control is in const ant communica tion with your vehicle when the security system is enabled. Even if you do not ask for status, it will inform you by means of icons on your remote t hat a door has been opened, that the engine has stopped, etc.
12 OPERATION Your alarm system has three different operating modes: active , semi-passive rearming and passi ve rearming depending on initial programming.
13 The following table shows the effect t hat each zone has on the rearming cycle. Protection zone Effect on rearming cycle Hood Doors Additional sensor (trunk) Shock sensor These four zones prolong rearming cycle as long as they r emain in violation.
14 DURING DISARMING Indicator flashes code for last zone that generat ed the alarm condition. Code is shown when you press button. This code is repeated until you apply the brakes. The following table shows the meaning of zone codes (number of fl ashes).
15 GLOSSARY S IREN Siren has six different sounds, i.e., it chir ps repeatedly and has six dif ferent melodies. It chirps intermittently (short r epeated chirps) during a pre- alarm and cont inuously dur ing an alarm condition. It can confirm ARM and DISARM commands with short chirps; see t able in CONFIRMATION section.
16 UNLOCK / DISARM Press the button, doors are unlocked and alar m is disarmed, parking light s flash and siren chirps twice to confirm command has been received and that no alarm c ondition was generated dur ing your absence. If there was a violation, confirma tion is different (4 flashes or chirps) t o warn you.
17 “P ASSIVE A RMING " TYPE A NTITHEFT / This type of antitheft system ar ms automatically when ignition key is turned from RUN to OFF and remains OFF for one minute. It can also be armed manually by sendi ng a Lock command (unless ignition key is in RUN position ).
18 PANIC To activate the panic mode, press on the buttons shown in table simultaneously. This command activates all deterrents that are connected to the syst em, parking lights , horn , siren and dome light for 30 sec. or 60 sec. depending on programming made dur ing installation.
19 CODE LEARNING OF ADDITI ONAL TRANSMITTER(S) Four different remote controls can be programmed for a given vehicle. If a fifth remote is added, the f irst remote is deleted. Note : When the first code learning command is sent, all the old codes are cleared out.
20 GEARSHIFT CHECK APPLICABLE TO MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES Make sure the parking brake is operat ional, i.e. it has the capability of immobilizin g the vehicle. If the parking brake cannot stop the w heels f rom turning, which is not safe, place the main switch in OFF posit ion until the situation is rectified .
