The Rumba 1000 Digital Music Drive is an excellent example of the style and technology Astone is br inging to the market. This USB mass storage device is chargin g in front of the competition as it is capable of playing and rec ording high qualit y s ound.

2.1 Appearance and Keys The player is e quipped with dual colo ur LED indicator light (RED & GREEN). W hen both are on together it will produce a third colour (AMBER). Keys PLA Y/STOP: T urn on / T urn off / Play and S top. AB/REC: A-B repeat function / Record.

3 . Operation Guide This Section outlines the full oper ating procedure of the de vice. 3.1 Basic Operation a. T urn ing the device ON Press the PLA Y/STOP button for 2 seconds and the device will turn ON. The device w ill also turn on automatically if connected to the comp uter via the USB.
Note: Do not disconnect the d evice when exchanging data with a computer (both red and green LE D flahing). As it ma y result in p ossible loss of data or damage to the unit. 3.2 MODE INTRODUCTION 3.2.1 Mode Sw itc h ¾ There are Three modes which this product supports: 1.
3.2.2 Play Mode Playing Music ¾ Once the player is switched on a green lig ht w i ll show that the player is turned ON. ¾ Pressing the Play button will play the first audio file and th e green LED will then start flashing. ¾ Pressing the Play button a second time, will P AUSE the audio file.
¾ Short-pressing AB/REC: It will enter into repeat function. ( Red and amber wi ll flash). Press AB/REC again and it will repe at recorded secti on over and over until you press AB/REC again to r eturn to normal. (Green flashing light). ¾ Under any state of repeat fun ction, s hort-pressing NE XT/VOL+ or PREV/VOL- key cancels AB repeat function.
3.2.3 DVR Mode (Recording) For recording mode make sure the unit is n ot playing music. (It needs to be in Halted S tate). ¾ Short-Press the MODE Key: T his w il l turn the unit into DVR mode. (The li ght will turn from green to red ). ¾ T o Record press the AB/REC key .
NOTE: 1. If the memory is full or the battery is too lo w t he unit will not record. (The green light will flash once) . 2. Record playing function of DV R mode has no AB repeat function. 3.2.4 USB Mode This section explains ho w t o use the storage disk to store files or music.
¾ While data is being exchan ged the amber li ght will flash. It is important to not unplug the device while the light is flas hi ng as the action may damage the device or possible data loss. ¾ Unpl ugging the device will enter it into MUSIC mode (Ha lted S tate).
4. INST ALLA TION (Dev ice Driver and T ools) 4.1 Inst alling Win 98 Driver The installation consists of three part s: 1. Dri v er: If you are using the Windows98SE operatin g system, the device will require a driver . W indows Me/2000/XP op erating systems do not require one.
Inst alling Win98 Driver and Applications: Before connecting the dev ice to the comput er , please run the Windo w s/setup.exe file under the CD directory to start installing.
Click the “Next” butto n to start installing: Click “Close” Button and the Applications insta llation is completed: 21.
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER Once the Windows 98 Driver has been successful ly installed, W indows w i ll then prompt you to restart your PC. AFTER STARTUP Once you have restarted your PC you will find the utilities suite located in: Start Menu / Programs / Mp3 Play er Utilities It will contain th e follo w ing: 1.
4.2 Formatting Function The operation proce dure is as follows: 1. Connect the device to the computer via the U SB port. 2. Run the Driver Kit - Mp3 Player Disk T ool.
4.3 “My Domain” Func tion The device has a built i n function that enable s the us er to create a private disk partition for hiding spec ial files or secret information that the user ma y not want their friends or colleagues to know about.
