37 Shooting Features Shooting Features This chapt er describes the came ra’s shooting modes and the feature s that ar e available whe n using each shooting m ode. You can select shooting modes and adjust settings according to the shooting conditions and the kind of ima ges you want capture.
38 Shooting Features A (A u to) Mode Used for general shooting. Settings ca n be adjusted in the shooting menu ( A 69) to suit the shoo ting co nditio ns and th e typ e of sho t you wa nt to captur e.

49 Shooting Features B Using Pet Portrait Auto Release • To change the pet portrait auto release setting , tap F and tap Y Pet portra it auto relea se . - o On (default setting): The shutter is automatica lly rele ased when focus is ac quired on the detected face.
50 Shooting Features B Notes About Taking 3D Pictures • Moving subjects are not sui ted to 3D photography. • Images have a l ess pronounced 3 D feel as the d istance between the camera a n d background is increased. • Images m ay have a less pronoun ced 3D fe el when the subject is d ark or when the second im age is not aligned precis ely.
51 Shooting Features B Playing Back 3D Images • 3D images cannot be played back in 3D on the camera monitor. Only the left eye image of a 3D image is di splayed dur ing play b ack. • To view 3D ima ges in 3D, a 3D-compatible TV or monitor is requ i red.

60 Shooting Features C The Flash Mode Set ting • The setting varies with the shooting mode. See “Av ailable Features” ( A 57 ) and “Def ault Settin gs” ( A 66) for more in formation. • Some settings cannot be used with other functions ( A 71) .
61 Shooting Features Using the Self-timer The camera is e quipped with a s elf-ti mer that re leas es the shutt er ten s econ ds o r two seconds aft er you pre ss the shu tter-rele ase button.
62 Shooting Features 4 Pre ss the shu tter-relea se butt on th e res t of th e wa y down. • The self-timer s tarts, and the num ber of seconds remaining before the shutter is release d is displayed in the monitor. The self -timer lamp flashes while the timer is counting down.
63 Shooting Features Using Macro Mode When using macro mode, t he camera can focus on objects as clos e as approximately 10 cm (4 in.) from the front of the len s. This featu re is useful when takin g close-up pictur es of f lowe rs and othe r small subjec ts.
64 Shooting Features B Notes About Using the Flash The flash may be unable to light the entire subjec t at distance s of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.). C Aut ofo cu s When taking still pictures in macro mode, the camera continuously adjusts the focus until the shutter-release button is pressed halfway to lock th e f ocus.

I f the camera detects more than on e face, a double border is displayed around t he face that the camera w ill focus on, and single b orders ar e displayed around the other faces.
